Digitally re-mastered edition of this 1977 album from the Jazz Funk act. Hailing from Portland, this eight piece outfit should have been the next in line for multi-platinum success after Earth, Wind & Fire and Kool & the Gang. It seems unfair that they didn't make a bigger impact on the charts, because over six albums recorded for Fantasy Records they mixed Jazz and Funk to perfection. Their legacy really is something special. Their very finest LP is Joyous, whose title track has been an instant and ongoing club classic since it was first issued, but also features marvelous instrumental grooves, stoned freak outs and an amazing slice of dance Soul in 'Let Me Be the One'. BGP. 2010.

Another album that belongs in the funk canon. Anything from Pleasure is exactly that.
This is the best unknown funk band in history. It floors me that these guys aren't a household name. This album is just as good as anything they ever put out. Great grooves and horns, catchy hooks that stay with you. It would be impossible to not be in a great mood listening to this. High energy. This album very often reminds me of Jamiroquai so much that I venture a guess that Jay is very familiar with this album and their catalog.

DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY.
i love pleasure but the sound quality of this CD is terrible. it has a very weak sound. i love a powerful base sound to my music. you have to turn it up louder just to get minimum sound.

Pleasure/ Joyous
very good music arangements, tight vocals, if this band was on the east coast this would have been a very big thing. the album sound is funky-jazzy yet it has some very danceable songs such as "let me be the one" and "dance to the music". Pleasure was a very good band who should have been better known and you should give this cd a try.

Pleasure is imo one of the best Funk-jazz bands of 70's and begin 80's.All the albums are of a very high quality and very original!!This music is timeless and can be played every day!I really do hope all the other albums which are not released on CD yet will follow soon!!
