Carlson Pet Products Gate with Pet Door, Black, Extra Tall

this is a brilliant dog gate as it is higher than most and most important to me, has a cat flap within it. I have a very elderly GSD with worsening arthritic hips. I needed to stop him attempting the stairs as he had already had several slips which just made his hips worse. At first I installed a normal baby gate but the dog tried to climb over putting excess weight on the top of the gate and even worse my smallest cat tried to force her way through the gap in the gate bars and got her head stuck - panic ensued until I eventually turned her head to get her out, but it was scary. Then I saw this gate. I didnt think the cats would like going through the cat opening, but all 7 atook to it immediately and it has saved me having to constantly having to get up and let one of the cats in or out of the room. The cat opening is quite low on the gate so it was never going to work on the stairs, but I fitted the gate on the kitchen door instead and the whole thing is just perfect for my needs. The opening mechanism is also better than on a child gate in that you can just pull the opening gate to and it locks into place automatically.

My silly puddy tats didn't grasp that they could jump over the existing baby gate so I needed something more obvious (eye roll).This one keeps my bouncing 7 month old lab out of their hair. My Shih Tzu can get through the cat gate but he doesnt annoy them so it's not a problem.The gate itself is easy and quick to fit, sturdy enough and good value.UPDATE: A month in and the quality of the gate is good but the the cat access is too large as the labrador can get through as he is still very slim at 8 months old

Ideal for keeping my German shepherd cross and my old english bulldog away from the cat litter (the bulldog had just had major procedure done at the vets through eating cat litter and contents) this works perfectly and now have the litter tray in the bathroom. Easy to put up, very sturdy, definitely recommend a+

I had to add a wooden baffle to keep the dog out. Otherwise gate works well.

We take our cat with us to different places and this is a great gate to separate him from other animals and give him his tranquil area. No need to drill and very portable. It also has an extension so it will adapt the different regular door sizes. Colour is very solid and looks nice.Instructions were for a different model so it seemed I was missing parts to put the door in place but then I realised it was a different version and figured it out easily. Just need to put the door on the frame and lock it with the black bolt.

Very happy with this. Was used for separating new puppy from the cat and worked very well!

I am satisfied except for the operating mechanism for the door , this is different from the one advertised and is definitely not easy to use . My husband had fixed it in place , and didn't know the difference so now I am stuck with a hard to operate gate operation. The gate well assembled is sturdy and has good stability. Uou have yo push a button in and slide the whole thing back to open and it foes not auto close as I had expected it would ( although this is not mentioned in advert ) just would make sense really.

The instructions were clear and the gate had a warning note that there would be a gap whilst setting it up, which I ignored then realised why it was there! One set of sticky labels are far too sticky to take off, whilst I need warnings I wish they would make them easy to remove :-( !!!I am not sure if a lockable cat flap is a good idea as it will get in the way and may need to remove it!
