You need the smart life app first of all and your google home app. There are no instructions for setting up with Google home so had to search a bit as I also discovered the BT home hub works in two bandwaves 2.4ghz and 5ghz. This device needs to be set up in 2.4ghz so the 5ghz needs to be switched off on the BT home hub temporarily. Other broadband providers may be the same. I know Virgin is.To do this I had to go into the hub manager online by copying this 192.168.1.254 to a new web browser page. You will then need to enter your own BT hub password from the back of your wifi box. Click on wireless where it has a button to separate the details for 2.4ghz and 5ghz. They are both preset to work together but this allows you to switch off the 5ghz. Save it but keep the page there for later (to switch back on)and now try to connect your device in the smart life. Hold the power button down for 5 seconds on the device until it flashes and it should connect now with the smart Life app. Then switch the 5ghz back on in your BT Hub. You can then go in to your google home app and link the smart life to it.It only took 5 minutes overall and it works great. You can switch off each individual plug too and the USB all separately.

This power strip comes well packaged and, out off the box, it looks and feels well made. Set-up using the Smart Life app was simple and as described in the instructions. Using it to power up a bunch of hard drives connected to my desktop PC means I no longer need to fumble around reaching to the back of my already crowded desk, plus I get load of powered USB sockets which mean I don't need to go searching for a USB wall wart whenever I need one.All in all I can't fault this product so far. Good value and does what it's supposed to.

Easy to set up. Links well with Amazon Echo/ Alexa to control sockets individually and all the USBs as a block.Would like easier way to change WiFi network: currently requires a reset and switch/ socket names are lost. 'Alexa' retains the names across this reset.Can't make the widget work. Doesn't find named switches.

This would be great if it worked, but it doesn't. Set up was straight forward and I used AP mode so I could operate all elements individually via Alexa. It all seemed to be working fine, but then the problems started appearing...1. The USB sockets are permanently on. Whether I use the Smart Life app or Alexa, the light remains on and the usb sockets remain powered. You can hear a rely click when you toggle the switch in either app, but it doesn't change the status of the sockets.2. I have two mains powered Bluetooth speakers which do not work in this power strip, but do work in all my normal power strips and another WiFi strip that I have. These aren't cheap speakers - one is a Marshall speaker worth £200 - but they simply don't work in this power strip. It's absolutely bizzare, but must be down to the circuitry.So, this strip will be going back to Amazon and I'll revert to one of the other brands of smart socket strips that I already have and know work. One star, because it simply doesn't work as it should do.

Seems quite cheap construction but works fine.Haven’t been able to get it to work with Alexa yet.I will not be beaten!

Bought one of these last Christmas, height of lazy but makes life a lot easier. Even my mom was impressed.Went to buy 2nd one but was out of stock, bought another one recently when restocked. Great product, works well with Alexa. The app is pretty good, can take a little while to get used to. The strip saves having to have individual plugs everywhere.Highly recommend this strip.

Don't know how i have lived without these until now they work great, now i can save power by switching stuff off right from my phone. The app is great and easy to use and well designed, i can recommend these to anyone in the market for a device like this!

Update 1st Oct 19: Although standing by my original comments on this device, I feel I should offer the following warning:In order to register your warranty, you need to send an email to manzokuservice@outlook.com with proof of posting a review of the product. This would also entitle you to a 20% discount on your next purchase - Happy Days!. Well, not quite. Since sending my email, together with the review below, I have had no contact from the vendor. Subsequent emails have also been ignored. Now while it's annoying to not receive a discount on further units I was going to purchase, my main concern is that should there be a problem with this device, I will have no support from the vendor. In my final email to the vendor I advised them that I would be revising my review to reflect the customer service if I did not receive a response - hence my update.If you're happy to take this risk, please go ahead and purchase. However I will be buying similar units from a vendor that actually exists!Original review: Great product. Followed the instructions that came with the power strip and Hey Presto!, 4 Alexa activated devices on one power strip. Will be buying more of these for around the house.
