The simplest to setup and most reliable networking device I've ever owned. Just buy it.
I would give this thing all the stars that amazon has if it were possible. If you need to extend your home network yet know nothing about networking, this is for you! All you do is plug it into the power plug on the wall and then just plug everything in. No setup, no navigating and trying to make sense of a some browser based UI, no need to worry about conflicts, no drivers or software needed, no worrying about having yet another admin login for another device you have to keep track of. This is what "plug and play" really means (for all the folk my age and older that remembers when the term "plug and play" was a buzz word in computing).I have mine connected to the router/modem all the way on the other end of the house via a networking cable. Switch is in my bedroom/office. From the switch I have a desktop PC and usually at least one raspberry pi plugged into it. Also plugged into it is a cable running to my WiFi extender which half the house prefers to use over the one our ISP provided. The WiFi extender has probably 2-3 phones, a steam deck, a PS5, two laptops, a smart tv and often various small raspberry pis or other various hobby and recreational electronic devices. I alone half put this switch through a lot of tough traffic, and it's been handling all of this for approximate 5 years now I think, and it's still going strong. Not sure what kind of life expectancy to expect from this switch, but if it died tomorrow, I'd still sing it's praises and spend another 15 bucks for the next five years. If you're worried about not being able to understand how to hook it up, dont! Just buy it, it'll be great. Power to wall, ethernet to router, ethernet to computer or whatever else. Done. That simple. Buy it.

Works great and easy to use
This 5-Port Gigabit Ethernet Switch is a must for my home network setup. Setup was truly plug-and-play — no configuration needed. I just connected my devices, powered it on, and everything worked immediately with blazing-fast speeds. All five ports deliver solid gigabit performance, and I’ve noticed zero lag or drops, even when multiple devices are streaming, downloading, or transferring large files simultaneously. The build quality is excellent — compact, sturdy, and runs quietly without generating much heat. It’s ideal for home offices, media centers, or anywhere you need to expand your wired connections without the hassle of a managed switch. If you're looking for a simple, reliable way to boost your network capacity, this little device delivers big performance. Highly recommend!

Trust brand, solid quality
can't go wrong with Netgear. Needed something very simple deployed in a utility closet that already had ethernet ran and didn't want to go through hassle of running additional drops.I always tend to go for something that offers some level of insight into managing the switch via webgui. Do not get let the idea that this is "smart" managed switch concern you, as you can plug and play and never bother setting anything up but if that is your game, then just go for the cheaper version (GS305) and save a few more bucks.Having vlan support was important as I have been moving my "IoT" devices to a separated network .

Amazing Ethernet Switch!
This product is truly impressive! The size is perfect for my setup, and the ease of use made connecting it to my router or extender a breeze. No complications at all. The functionality is top-notch, especially with how reliable it is for my network needs. The weight is incredibly light, which makes it easy to place anywhere, and I appreciate the added security when using an Ethernet connection. It feels very dependable. The heat resistance is a nice bonus, keeping it cool even during heavy use. Overall, it’s an amazing quality product. I recommend it if you need a safer online environment or just want to expand your Ethernet ports.

Worth it!
Just FYI, you don't actually need the App if you don't want to download it. I set this up and it let me plug in an ethernet cable on my PC and my download speeds quadrupled. I went from averaging 80-120mbps to 390-460mbps. It has enough ports for all my consoles and PCs and its small enough that it is unobtrusive. If it can be helped, I am never doing wifi again.

Small, functional and excellent
I actually have 2 of these. One is in my computer room and allows me to plug several computers into my ethernet line at the same time and without mucking around changing cords, etc. The other one is at the cable modem input and allows me to leave my wifi router off unless I need it for something. The latter I find to be a security measure, since the wifi router is not broadcasting and can't be compromised if it's off. When the wifi router is on, the output goes into the Netgear router and then into the cable modem - without me having to mess around changing plugs and wires. These units are plug and play - they simplified everything and increased my security at the same time. I really like that it's small and as far as my internet connection is concerned, I've seen no impact at all on speeds. I do wish that the power connector was in a different location (it's on the side opposite the ethernet connectors) but that's so trivial as to be unimportant. I recommend this product heartily!

Just Works!
Just a good no frills unmanaged switch. I have several of these in the house (I work from home) and have had no problems with any of them. Wire up and forget!
