Don't let the word disposable fool you this is a tool that will find a permanent place in your tool bag. It features a 110 style punch-down blade - perfect for field terminations and repairs of network or telephone jacks. The built-in cable jacket stripper is where this low-cost tool really comes in handy. The stripper is fantastic for taking off the outer cable jacket of CAT- 3, 5, and 6 cables. Simply slide the tool onto the cable and rotate around one time - You get a perfect, nick-free strip of the cable jacket each time. It is fast to use and does not nick the cable! As a punch-down tool, it is great, but as a cable stripper it is amazing!

Great little tool, but...
Simple little tool. I LOVE this as a CAT wire stripper. The punch down portion is too simple for me and I purchased a better one. Just one complaint. The strip blade has a small plastic piece that fell off when I first used this. While it snapped back in and has not come off since, if this comes off and you don't notice it, it would be really easy to loose it and then you would have to buy a new one.

Great value. Perfect for occasional needs.
Good inexpensive stripper. I wired my entire house with Cat5e and this stripper along with Cat connectors and a TRENDnet tool was all I needed. I also made my own custom length wires. It will probably not be in a pro's bag, but it is perfect for my occasional needs.

Not that Great
The cutter on it's largest size sliced into my Cat6E cable and I had to switch to a better cutter. Go for something a bit higher end, you won't regret it.

Sometimes simple is best.
I use it daily! I bought two in case one broke, but after several months it is still going strong! I only use the cable stripper. I have never used the punch down so I cannot say anything about it's value. I strip everything from mic cable to Cat 6 STP without any issues.

Great to have laying around the house
punched down dozens of CAT6 with this and it keeps going. Have recommended this to many friends.

Bought for cutter tool
This simple device is invaluable when working with CAT5 cable. Takes the sheathing off without damaging the wires. Punch down looks like it would work, but I have not tested that yet.

Unless you are a pro installer, this is all you need to wire Cat 5 or 6 punch-down terminals
Don't know why its labelled disposable - OK, its plastic, but both punch down and cable stripping functions work perfectly. For light-hobbyist use it should last forever.
