I bought these power controllers to be able to control a small (Z scale) train layout that I am building. I wanted to be able to control the train speed as well as the direction all from one switch. This controller lets me do that easily. I hooked up a 4 AA battery case to the inputs and then the outputs go to the track. Worked like a charm! The price point is good too since I don't have to buy two units to control power and reversibility!
