Works like it should!

Running on HPS

The ballast itself seems nice 1000 600 or 400 watt compatible,it just knows what bulb is there.But the shipping was a little rough mounting tabs bent up dial adjustment knob pulled off but there's a permanent knob behind that.

I bought two of these same 600w ballast and the 1st ballast put out about 60% less light than the 2nd 600w ballast I bought (my personal 4oow ballast puts out more light than the 1st 600w dysfunctional ballast). Nor was this same dysfunctional ballast ceiled in the packaging like the 2nd ballast was and it also had a small cut to the extension cord as well.I believe it's a hit and miss when you buy certain things off of Amazon. A lot of time one gets returned items from others and those items can be dysfunctional and resold (such as what I believe happened to me).Also, and most of all - You get what you pay for! These are not the best of ballasts, but they do work (at least I hope). If you want to grow really good stuff with durable products than I suggest, spend the extra money and go to a local grow shop and buy all your need's there!The 2nd ballast I bought Ive only had for one day so far, and it seems to work fine. Yet time will only tell how this ballast is to workout(?).

Back in 2010 I bought three 1000 watt NEXTGEN ballasts for $399 each. It's amazing how much these things cost now. Anyway. I recently began growing again and with weeks one of the nextgens quit working. So I did some quick research and decided on the Quantum 1000 watters. I wasn't expecting much because how cheap these are now but when they arrived I was pleasantly surprised. I bought two of them because I like having a back up when it comes to my lighting and garden. First thing I did was fire both of them up and test them before mounting. All was good. First impression is that these ballast are a good value. And they come with a three year warranty. They appear to be built like tanks, look good, are almost completely silent and run cooler than what they replaced. They are dimmable (which I don't care about) so if your into that sort of thing it works great. Another good thing is they come with both 120 and 240 volt cords. I will come back and give another review after I put some hours on these. But for $150 with a three year warranty I don't see how I can go wrong.

This seems to work well, but it didn't come with the weird plug. It came with a regular plug and some sideways plug but not the main plug. I posted picts. So if you don't already have the weird plug you will need to buy one. I was lucky and this is a replacement unit so I had the weird plug already. It seems to work fine, minus the whole plug thing.

This thing wouldn't strike a new bulb out ogf the box. Went to a local grow store and purchased a ballast that has ten time the features and quality of this brick. Lesson learned, hopefully this helps someone else.

Excellent product, arrived on time.

I bought this for a spare and didn't get around to using it for about 3 months. I got 2 days of use and it stopped working. I'm very disappointed. First, it blew a fuse then it just stopped all together.
