John Deere: Big Book of Tractors

Purchased this as a replacement since this is one of my son's favorite books and he's worn his original one out. The book itself is great, a little old school and dated, but my boys love it. The stars I knocked off are for the condition it was in. I knew I was purchasing a used book, so did not expect perfection. However, this book arrived with what looked like slices down the middle of multiple pages at the binding and tape on several pages. I can tape it, but I was pretty bummed what poor condition it was in.

The images are fantastic, it's incredibly educational, too. This is intended as a gift for a bright 4 YO who LOVES tractors (especially John Deere) and everything you'd find on a working farm. The writing is just right--imparts information that that isn't overwhelming and it also doesn't talk down to the young reader. Great book for parent and child to read together. Glad I read it before I had to wrap it up to give--learned a lot!!

Good concept; unable to hold grandson's attention.

I purchased this book for my 8 year old nephew for Christmas. I feel he will love it, I know I did. It's wonderfully educational and informative. The pictures are fabulous. I purchased it used, but it looks brand new. I highly recommend this book if you are interested in farming, tractors, and/or John Deere!

My 2 year old grandson absolutely loves this book. I don't actually read it to him, he just loves to look at the pictures and talk about the work being done in the photos. He has a great uncle that farms and teaches him about tractors, so he likes to call every driver "Farmer Andy". Great photos.

And it also arrived damaged near the spine of the book, it was bent on the bottom and the bottom pages torn. Not enough to affect reading the book. Didn't return it because my kid didn't seem to mind the cosmetic flaws.The book itself was extremely informational. Great for any John Deere fan.

I purchased this book for my 2-year-old who is obsessed with tractors. While the written content goes over his head (which I expected), the pictures are entertaining, vivid and really hold his attention for a long time.My husband and I both enjoy looking at the book with our son- it is a really interesting book!- and are happy that this book will be interesting to him as he grows even after he tires of just looking at the pictures.

It was a perfect gift for our grandson (age 4) and since he is a huge fan of John Deere equipment he was thrilled by the awesome pictures! He couldn't wait to have someone read it to him...and grandpa couldn't wait to oblige him, haha!

This was given as a Christmas present to my grandson who loves tractors. He was delighted - lots of super pictures - but the only draw back is that the book is American so some words are spelt differently to our English spelling.

High quality book full of interesting stuff, including a bit of history and loads of glossy photos - really excellent for young tractor or farming enthusiasts, gives a good foundation of info without being too geeky - certainly gives you an idea of the sheer scale that farming methods have risen to, and should be really useful in identifying various 'I spy' tractors and farming machines when out and about with young enthusiasts or older, since in my opinion this book would suit a range of ages from 5 up to 15 years! Even adults might learn something they didn't know!

I bought this for my 2.5 year old son. Hes crazy about tractors. He always asks what the different parts are called and I haven't a clue. So I found this book, with loads of pictures and descriptions, its brilliant. Its too old for him, but he doesn't care, he wants me to read it every night. Its probably more suited for a 6-8 year old. But we're getting lots of great use out of it. We love it.

Bought for a 5 year old tractor fan well written and easy to understand, lots of pictures. I’ve learnt some interesting facts too

I imagined this book to be a thicker I was very surprised at how few pages there were. My fault for not looking at the description. My son loves it as the books aimed at his age group 31 months, are too babyish. He is tractor obsessed and this book is well looked at!
