This is not a well made product!
Just moved and my gun is packed somewhere in the seemingly infinite piles of boxes in my garage. I needed to process some jerky for a medieval school function. I was happy to find this one, figured it may take a bit longer, but at least I wasn't purchasing another exact gun at the higher price as the one that I already owned. I got one tray done and as I was starting my second tray, it broke... The trigger mechanism broke away. You can see it was held together by glue, and obviously a crappy glue. I even leave my ground meat out before I load it into the jerky guns and still it couldn't handle it. I warn you all... Had to give it one star for my review to go through, but this an empty star product.

If you really want to make Jerky, buy a better tool....
I would give this one star, but I found out that I could use some of the parts in my Wilton cookie press. I got this today and was able to make one and a half strips of jerky before the unit broke. Luckily, the nozzles fit my Wilton cookie press perfectly and given the price I paid, it was worth to cost. I continued making jerky with my other press and the nozzles make nicely formed jerky. In the future, I will purchase a gun that is more solidly built.

It works but is not rugged
So it didn't break on the first use... it broke on the SECOND use. The design flaw is that the pistol grip is glued to the rear threaded ring, when a lot of pressure is placed it separates. I was able to re-glue it, but I haven't tested it yet. However, it worked great the first time with ground turkey! The second time I was trying to use it with a dough to make some baked chips... just tooo thick/dense for the gun.

it's ok.
It does ok. The flat one gets gummed up on every little thing. The round one does better. Not enough compression to really pack the burger meat to make jerky. comes out "fluffy" not firm. not a bad tool overall but in the long run i think i will just stick with sliced meats. less hassle.

Great gun by concept but as it is plastic and ...
Great gun by concept but as it is plastic and there is quite a bit of force being exerted on it to shape the jerky, the back portion of the gun became dethatched from the tube the 2nd time I used it. A little gorilla glue fixed that problem though. As far as shaping and making uniform jerky slices, once I fixed the problem I have been very happy.

Make sure you use a lean ground beef (90-92%) to ensure that the beef jerky comes out nice and dry
I was skeptical about this meat 'cauking gun' but after my first batch of beef jerkey I am a believer. Make sure you use a lean ground beef (90-92%) to ensure that the beef jerky comes out nice and dry.The strips of meat came out very uniform and thin and dried well.

Gun worked good enough to make 3 lbs of jerky without breaking
Bought to see if making jerky in the oven was feasible. Gun worked good enough to make 3 lbs of jerky without breaking. It's easy to clean too which is a bonus. Only reason it lost a star is that at the end of the "pull" it's missing a tooth and slips. It still functions fine, was more than I expected at this price point.

I would def recommend others to purchase this
I use this gun very often to make jerky. I would def recommend others to purchase this. I place seasoned ground beef into this gun and make jerky strips. They're delicious.
