I ordered this can opener because I have an electric can opener that cuts from the side of the can which means that once cut the top will fit back on the can and does not fall inside the can. I wanted this hand held can opener just in case our power would go out we’d still have something to open cans with, and for opening tuna cans. I needed an opener that would let the lid fall down inside the can for draining the juice off of the tuna.This is a really nice can opener. It has a nice stainless steel finish, really nice heavy duty metal. The handles are made of a nice hard plastic with a smooth stainless steel finish. The knob where you turn the opener is oversized which makes it easy for grabbing a hold of to turn. It turns nice and smooth. It is in no way hard to turn. I have opened several cans with it and find the gears to turn smoothly; it fits onto the can nice, and cuts into the can smoothly without skipping on the metal as it turns. It also has a really nice built in bottle opener right on the side where the knob to turn the opener is located.This would make a great can opener for anyone. You could take it camping, use as a back up to an electric opener, or just plain use as an everyday opener. It's really nice looking sleek design would also make it a great gift.I received this can opener for free or at a discount for my honest review.

This worked fine for about 2 weeks then got stiff to the point where I can barely turn the handle. Giveme the old fashioned Swing Line that was made in the 50's when QUALITY meant something.

Hoped that it was better than previous can openers---not. Pretty bad when you have to disassemble, grind,file and reassemble to get a functioning can opener!!

Stopped working correctly after about 7 uses, was not very good when it was working. Cheap can opener from the local grocery was far superior

You get what you pay for, cheap. Gears are plastic.

Do no purchase this Can Opener... Horrible..I purchased this months ago to replace the one which I got from a Dollar Store...years ago...as a backup... First time to use it was last weekend and could not believe it would not open a can of beans... The can opener was just going around the can without cutting...tried too many times with disbelief ..... My return period is over and I am stuck with this horrible can opener never seen one like this...

I tend to read the review that give 3 or 4 stars, that way I get middle of the road true reviews. This time I should have paid more att ion to the lower stars. This opener is so hard to turn my husband even struggles with using it.
