Exactly what I needed
Worked perfectly! Finally my husband's CB radio gets better signal! He had trouble with signal and had tried several other antennas and they didn't give any more signal until he got this one! It's absolutely wonderful!!! Well worth the price and would definitely buy it again!!

Great short antenna
This little guy gets out pretty well .I bought it so I could pull into mechanic shops, parking buildings, and my neighborhood without being knocked off the truck from the low hanging trees etc on the way in.It does what I need it to do quite well.If your looking fo a shotrer antenna for similar easons its gtg

The 35" length antenna really works better vs the shorter lengths that are available.
This was my second purchase of a magnetic roof antenna. The first one had a much shorter antenna length. Unfortunately even thought it was highly recommended my roof rack got in the way of receiving and transmitting on my CB. This K30, 35" worked fine. The magnet is very good also.

Been CB'ing for years!
I started using a CB radio back in the late 70's. (Think of Smokey and the Bandit.) That's when CB radios were in their heyday. I got my call sign before the FCC stopped requiring them for citizen's band, KAEZ 4492.These days, I still have a CB in my truck. I only use it for road trips. It's a nice line of communications to have when you're out on an interstate with hundreds of miles to travel. Not a lot of traffic on channel 19 these days. Most truckers have gone cellular and don't chatter much anymore. When you are facing a major slowdown or jam, getting an update from the OTR truckers on the situation is very helpful. You can save hours of delays by picking an alternate route, based on what they say. This antenna is as good as any driver could want. It has a good base load, eliminating the need for a long whip antenna. The base has a powerful magnet that will NOT be dislodged by the wind. The base is also well sealed, preventing moisture from getting to the wiring. The coax is well made, long enough for any application and the terminal is universal and well made.I'd recommend getting a tuner and adjusting the height for the most efficient broadcast signal. But, it's great right out of the box.

K30 a good name brand.
The k30 is a good antenna.Realize anything less then a full size 102 inch 1/4 wave steel whip is going to be a compromise.Shorter length less performance. The quality of the loading coil in the base is important.Ive had a 102 inch whip on a jeep wrangler,a k40 on the roof of a suburban and a wilson 1000 on the car I had. They are all good antennas.I have the k30 on the roof of my chevy silverado and Im happy with it. Get a swr meter and check it.I had to cut the length down a bit to get the swr below 2.0 on channels 1 and 40.Thats normalThe shorter the antenna the more difficult it will be to get the swr down to a reasonable amount[under 2.5] ----- I would not go any shorter than the k30. A bad antenna would be a really short center loaded no name antenna.Stick with the name brands the longer the better Up date 3-1-22-------uh oh------k30 antenna failed..I noticed my radio not receiveing very well.I checked rhe antenna with swr meter and it was maxed out like it had a short or open.I checked the coax and checked for shorts and ppens but did not find what the trouble was.Replaced antenna with another brand and all is well now. I got about two years out of it.I have not had a chance to look and see what happened with swr on this antenna I suspect a capacitor used in the design failed.I believe this antenna is pretty much the same as the lil wil.I use a wilson 1000 mag mount now but it tends to hit low hanging tree limbs at times.I think the k30 is about 36 inches high the wilson 1000 probably 55 inches

Inspect the PL-259 connector. Loose copper conductor wire/bad solder job = poor performance. Good news is it's fixable.
I hooked up this antenna and couldn't get even local NOAA transmissions that I get with ease on a handheld marine radio with stubby antenna in my concrete basement. SWR with this antenna (connected to a Bearcat 998SSB) was off the charts. Using another magnetic mount stubby 80's vintage "cellular-looking" antenna I got great SWR readings. So what was with all the 5-star, great reviews? Not here. My experience started with a 1-star. I was about to repackage it and return this antenna as it didn't meet expectations. Tuning wasn't going to fix this.Luckily, when I went to unscrew the PL-259 antenna cable connector from the CB radio, I noticed the entire wire came completely out of the connector. Upon inspection, I noticed the copper conductor wire that goes through the center (similar to cable TV coax) wasn't soldered properly to the tip of the PL-259 connector. I could see a speck of solder but the job was poor. (If this is confusing, just internet search for "PL-259 install" to see pictures and more detail.)To fix this problem, I cleaned/deoxidized the copper conductor and reinserted it and the shield wire and soldered properly the conductor back onto the PL-259 connector tip. Without even tuning, the radio's SWR is 1.00 on Channel 1 and 1.3 on 40. I haven't had a chance to road test it, but this connection including the ground shielding wire MUST be good or no antenna will work properly. Now, I'm satisfied it's working properly. So I took off two stars because the consumer shouldn't have to repair a brand new, unopened brand-named product that seemingly carries very good reviews. Sure, tuning is one thing, but repairing defective craftsmanship is another. Not to mention you need to have the proper tools and know-how to make this minor repair. Anyway, I wasted a bunch of time researching antennas, theory, etc. whereas this would have been plug-n-tune-play had it not been for a bad solder connection. Now, who do I send the repair bill to?Update: Road tested and I still can't get but 1 NOAA weather frequency and very unreliably. Decided to install Firestik FS II with M-184R mount and spring (see review under M-189R mount). Wow, what a difference. Reliably I get 4 NOAA frequencies same spot/conditions and better SWR numbers. Top coil vs. base made a huge difference for my radio. So initially the convenience of a removable mag mount seemed appealing, I'm much happier with look of permanent mount and the far greater performance with the FireStik. Mind you the FireStik took 3 hours to install--definitely not easy. K30 returned.

Strong Magnet, Excellent Reception with NO tuning on my CB.
Works well right out of the box. Magnet is good and holds for me up to 120 km/hr. I put a small felt pad underneath and it still holds strong. Good quality and function. No tuning required for me.

Average antenna
Transaction and Postage was fast, the package arrived in very average state and when putting the item together there was a grub screw missing that tightens the antenna into the bolt.,

I think it is going to work well
Purchased this antenna so I could hook up this cute little vintage 1977 CB I got for a song in my 1977 F150. I plopped the mount smack in the middle of my roof with the coax going down in the doorjamb, under the dash, into the cb. Pretty simple. Also tuned it with an external SWR meter and had to cut off about 3/4 of an inch to get the SWR's to match. 1.2 on channel 1, 1.4 on channel 23 (I only have 23). So I am going to leave it alone. Channel 19 is pretty much 1.2 as well. Good enough for me. Haven't heard anyone yet but then again I am not near a highway. Taking it out on a road trip this weekend. The mount is solid. Had to tighten the metal base on the mount where the antenna goes into a little bit but that's it. Easy install. Now let's hope this thing works :)

L’antenne a bien fonctionné pendant 3 ans
