Why did you pick this product vs others?:The reviews were great on Youtube, I bought 3 in the past of the older models, I've bought 3 of the newer models now and use them all over to regulate AC controls, very accurate.

This thing is great. I like that the hygrometer reading is at the top. The highest/lowest readings over the past 24 hours are very useful. The backlit function is perfect for nighttime and it's easy to read in normal light. Both humidity and temperature can be calibrated if desired. It feels more solid than I expected and seems well made. All in all, a great value on a neat product from AcuRite.Addendum: Recently purchased three more to use in a walk-in cooler, a fruit packing shed, and a house. The original is still working perfectly after over three years. It's solid and good quality.

The calibration part is annoying, but the salt method works to get the humidty set correctly. I used the thermostat temp to calibrate the temperature. After that, it does what it's supposed to do. I had to calibrate the humidity 2% and the temperature 1 degree, so out of the box is relatively close to accurate. The magnets are pretty strong. I had it hanging on drywall over a corner (corner bead/screw) without falling off. For the price, it was worth a day of calibration.I gave it 4 stars because it's similarly priced to units that come with batteries and this does not. ALSO - the complete lack of consistency regarding battery size in their own description and from customers in the question section. Mine required 2 AAA batteries. In their own description it's listed as AA & AAA. In the question section, it's listed as both. I'm not sure where the mistakes come from or if they have different models using the same model number or what? Just annoying to not know which batteries to order before receiving this.

I'm very happy with the AcuRite Pro. I wanted a small gauge for the office upstairs which is the farthest away from the HVAC unit. This little jewel is perfect for my needs. I was disappointed when it came in that it did not have a stand, but it sits up very well on its own. I actually now prefer it the way it is. It lights up upon touching it and that is nice at night. Overall I'm very happy that I chose this unit.

I purchased these to place around the house. Originally, I had installed a humidifier and wanted to see if the humidity was consistent throughout the house. It was a great tool for doing this. I like the magnetic back - it makes it easy to place. The numbers are large, and easy to read. I do wish that the light was a little easier to turn on. For some reason, I can't usually just "touch" the unit to make the light turn on. Instead, I have to grab the unit on multiple areas. They are inexpensive enough to place in many areas. Recommended!

I haven't used the product yet. Assuming it works well, I'm only giving them 3 stars because they say the device takes "AA" batteries when it takes "AAA." I went ahead and purchased a pack of the former ($7.99), and now I've wasted my money on something I don't really need. Yes, I can return it, but who will compensate me for my time and capacity? Anyways, buyers, beware... Get the right batteries for your device.Update: I got the right batteries and have been using it for about a month. I love it! I love the backlight and the magnet. I can stick it on the side of my cabinet. It brings so much clarity around managing moisture in my apartment. Buy it!

Best thermometer I've ever purchased. Have had many in the past that would take 10+ minutes to acclimate to the area. This one is instant.Working flawlessly for months now. You shouldn't be disappointed in purchasing it.The only wishlist item is it would be nice to have an LCD backlight that could stay on 24/7. Just a very dim one to offset just the normal room light or nighttime. But that's just me.
