K40 T300PLUSBK 3 Foot Top Loaded CB/10-Meter Antenna Whip, Black

Thought I’d take a punt on this antenna mainly because of the low price. It turned up missing the set screw but Amazon are sending me a replacement so that’s ok.I’m using it with a temporary screw for the time being but what a great antenna! I have a trunk lip mount with a medium spring but as it’s such a well made beefy antenna I’m going to upgrade the spring to a heavy duty one.It looks great and seems built to last… it’s solid! Receive is really good as is transmit. I’m pretty sure I’m hearing CBers from further away than before and being top loaded I know it’s better on transmit. SWR is really easy to set, mine is 1.5 on 1 and 40 and 1 on 20. It seems to have less noise than my last stainless whip type antenna.AND being only 3ft it fits in the garage without having to remove it or anything.Really pleased with the performance and price of this antenna.

Works well for me. I have a president Lincoln 2 plus and I have a firestik magnet mount with 18’ RG58. I removed my 2’ 300 watt firestik and put this K40 3’ 2500 watt in and I had to raise the tip and I get 1.1 SWR on channel 1 and 1.1 SWR on channel 40 and 1.0 SWR on everything in between. I got great reception on ssb also. This works really great with my setup. To each his own. I ran a HD500 rocket box on my 300 watt firestik and almost melted it. So if I choose, I can do that amp with this antenna with no worries. 2500 watts. Very nice.
