Thisis great! I don't wear makeup often, but yet my brushes seem to get so dirty! I didn't even realize how dirty they were until I started using this. I received this product for a discounted price for my honest and unbiased review.This is pretty much the best and easiest make-up brush cleaner. The random color I received just happened to be my favorite color, which is pink although all the colors are beautiful!I have used just facial wash and my hands in the past and my brushes never seemed clean enough. I'm a makeup brush hoarder, and can never have enough. What comes with lots of makeup brushes is my obsession for finding the next latest and greatest makeup brushes.Since I use some synthetic and goat hair brushes it's extremely important that I clean and disinfect them to keep them clean without any oily or bacterial growth. I admit that I used to use a cup of water with antibacterial soap and never felt that I was getting in my bristles deep enough.When I purchased this product I did still use the antibacterial hand soap, but I just put a pea-sized amount on the silicone makeup brush cleaner. Let me first say that this makeup brush cleaner is small enough to fit in the palm of your hand, perfect for traveling and was a soft silicone. It has a nice hollow spot in the middle which allowed me to get a better grip on the brush cleaner itself which helped me control the pressure in which brush I was cleaning. My synthetic brushes are much less expensive and I expect a few hairs to fall out every time I clean them. But, with the amount of money I spent on the goat hair brushes I can't use a brush cleaner that is going to pull the hairs out.So my experience was pretty good. 100% perfection, my favorite brush cleaner by far for my goat hair brushes. I was easily able to get a good clean on them, without any damage and without any of the brush hairs falling out. I did not get the as good of a clean on my synthetic brushes. It didn't seem to remove the oils on those near as much a as my previous method of swooshing them in the soap on my hand. Quite a few hairs fell out, but I do believe it's because of up and down motion horizontally across the cleaning brush as recommended. That's the only reason I gave it a 4 star vs. a 5 star. With the goat hair brushes I did not go horizontally but chose to go with the lines vertically for fear of damaging.My overall conclusion is this brush does a great job, and I would purchase it again for my animal hair brushes! It's great quality, easily disinfected and perfect for travel. I will likely still stick with water and antibacterial wash/rinse in a plastic container just for easy swirl and clean in my hand method.Disclaimer- As a regular Amazon Consumer and reviewer, I purchased this product with a minimal discount for my honest review. Not as big as I expected it to be so really only works for your smaller brushes. (Like blush size). But it does work nicely to get all of the product off your brushes while cleaning...better than a wash cloth did. And you don't have to worry about it staining your wash clothes either. The pad did have a very strong, almost toxic, chemical smell to it when I opened it. I had to wash it several times to get the smell to go away.
