Worked as Expected
This would be nice for an indoor setting like many reviews have mentioned, but slightly sucked for camping. I'm a side sleeper, which this pad does not work well for as it's too thin for that--it killed my hip if I laid on my side for longer than 10 minutes. It was thick enough that I couldn't feel any stray rocks under me though! Pretty much the only way I found it comfortable when I was sleeping was when I laid on my stomach.I do like the little snaps that are along the perimeter of the pad because I could use them to help fold it in half when it was still partially inflated. Also, the pillow can snap to the pad so it doesn't sneak out from under you at night. Also, I love how compact this is! Also, it actually fits back into the carrying bag when you're done. For anyone wondering, I'm 5'11" and about 200 lbs. This sleeping pad was long enough for me.

survived rural Panama and continues to serve me in the US
I bought this product in the summer of 2017 for a medical relief trip to remote Panama. It is now a year later and I still frequently use this sleep pad. If you practice putting away the pad and pillow a few times, you will be able to get it down to a science and roll it to a smaller size. I am able to roll them up so small and tight that there is extra room in the included carrying bag. For ten days, I would have to set up my sleeping arrangement at night and put it away when I woke up. This sleeping pad survived being continually inflated, deflated, and rolled up in Panama and continues to serve me through all of my adventures in the US. The material is almost like a fabric-coated plastic. I didn't use the sleeping bag I had brought with me when I was in Panama because the pad was comfortable enough without needing a covering. Because of the material, I wipe it down with clorox wipes after I'm finished camping. To inflate, I open the valve and manually blow air into the pad. This takes tops one minute--very easy and you won't expend all of your breath to fill it. Whether bed or camp mat, I always toss and turn in my sleep but I still manage to have a comfortable sleep on this sleep pad. I plan on buying a second Koolsen sleep pad to make a larger sleeping area for my future camping trips. My advice: be careful how tight you pull the straps when you've rolled up the pad. One of my straps ripped off of the pad. It didn't create a significant enough of a hole to cause air leakage, but it is no longer attached to the pad.I would recommend this product and I would purchase this product again.

So far I am super pleased I've used them twice for tent camping
So far I am super pleased I've used them twice for tent camping, and I am very satisfied. It can get really firm. I let them inflate then blew some air into them. After one night though it was actually too hard do I let some air out and it was really good. We bought 2 and attached them together and slid inside 2 sleeping bags. The snaps are nice and strong and the gap between them in not terrible. The optionality of the pillows is great and overall the pillows are pretty great. The mat and pillows have a foam inside that inflates and gives really good comfort. They are also not difficult to roll up. Durability seams good but I wouldn't recommend putting down without a decent layer under them. Overall very very happy.

Works great!
This and an excellent value for the price. As far as I can tell, this pad works just as well as pads costing two or three times more. I used to use a full size air mattress (and accompanying battery powered pump), but the combination was way too heavy. I took a chance and tried out this self-inflating pad last summer. I spent more than 45 days in my tent last summer and was pleasantly surprised. As I expected, it's not quite as comfortable as a 4 inch thick air mattress, but that was to be expected. I found it to be surprisingly comfortable for its size. In the past I'd tried skinny solid pads which left me sore in the morning. This semi-inflatable really does the job. I sleep comfortably every night and wake up without any soreness. The self inflation is very easy and you can add a few breaths of air to give a bit more cushioning. It collapses and stores away very quickly. Overall, I think this is a great, light alternative to hauling around 10-12 lbs. of air mattress and a pump. The only improvement I would recommend is to make it a few inches wider, for those who might tend to move around a bit at night.

it works great. Out packs a bit smaller than my sleeping ...
I haven't used many different camping mattresses, and I'm not a frequent camper, so I can't compare this to other pads, and I can't say how it would do for a serious camper. I suspect that you wouldn't want to take it backpacking, but for a typical family camping trip, it works great. Out packs a bit smaller than my sleeping bag, but isn't as squishy, it also feels a bit heavier than my sleeping bag. It does inflate quickly, even the pillow is self-inflating. The grippy stuff on the bottom does keep the pass from sliding (though the sleeping bag slides easily on top of it). It is thick enough that I didn't feel rocks and roots under me. So, overall, a smallish, quick setup that's inexpensive and great for a typical family camping trip.

Buy the one with the detachable pillow. Smaller than advertised but nice
I like this one. But it isn't as wide as it says. Note that there are two different ones for 20 bucks. They are both green, not blue as description said. One has pillow attached and the other detaches. Attached pillow uses crappy inflatable valve and not comfortable. It is as wide as it says however. But it is at best an inch thick...maybe. Did not like that one at all. The other has a detached pillow that is self inflating and MUCH nicer. Pad is about an inch and a half so what I was hoping and much more comfortable. At least as comfortable as other sleeping pads I have used. BUT is is not as wide as advertised. The outside measurement from side of flap to side of flap is maybe 24 but take off 3 inches for those flaps.I still like this one so will keep it seeing as it is half or less than others I found and comes with a nice (in my opinion) pillow.Don't buy this thinking it is a huge air mattress, it's a sleeping pad. But it is WAY better than the ground and better than any foam sleeping pad I have used.
