Great little dehumidifier
I bought the smallest version of this dehumidifier four or five years ago to keep the mold at bay in our small, damp basement. The thing worked like a champ 24 hours a day for years but finally gave up the ghost and I opted for the next-larger model so as not to have to empty the water quite so often. These things work extremely well for a machine that is so small, quiet and unobtrusive. I can't say how it would work in a 250 sf basement, but they're perfect for our 100 sf one.

Great Item, Excellent Customer Service
This dehumidifier is exactly what we needed for a bedroom that my wife uses for an office several days a week after we realized it has a mold problem. The dehumidifier runs quietly, pulls a good amount of moisture out of the air, and is dead simple to operate. There are only two settings - on or off. When the water tank is full, the device turns off automatically (a float in the tank rises up and presses an internal switch). Emptying the tank is stupid simple, and I am the kind of person that spills every time I add water to the coffee maker.Unfortunately, after a few months of continuous operation, the dehumidifier stopped working. When plugged in, it remained silent and no lights came on. If I manually pressed the "full" switch, the full light would illuminate, indicating that the unit was receiving power. Now the very good. It took a few tries to create a support case on the ProBreeze website -- you are required to upload a file, but the two days I tried to use the site, file uploads were broken. I eventually chatted with the automated assistant on the bottom right corner of the site, and it asked me all the same questions AND allowed me to upload a video showing the problem with my device. At the end of this exchange, the chat bot told me to expect a response within several business days. The VERY NEXT DAY, less than twelve hours later, a human rep emailed to ask for my mailing address. They sent a replacement unit to me at no cost. No need to ship back the broken one, as my video was adequate evidence of defect. I put in my request on a Monday night, and I *had a brand new replacement by Thursday afternoon*. This is by far the best customer service experience I've had after an item fails. I am very impressed, and I can confidently say that ProBreeze stands behind their products.

Avoid this device! Buy a serious dehumidifier instead.
I wanted to love the Pro Breeze dehumidifier, but after having purchased two of these and experiencing both units failing, I cannot recommend this product. The price is great, and the Amazon reviews looked equally great, so I purchased one. It performed well for about 3 months, and then completely stopped working. Since the elapsed time falls outside of Amazon's return policy, we're going to seek a refund from the manufacturer directly. Before our first unit gave up the ghost, we had already purchased a second unit. I unwrapped it and put it to work immediately, except that it never came to life. It was "dead" right out of the box! I tried plugging it into multiple outlets, just to ensure that there wasn't some issue with my outlets, but the device remained as dead as before. An expensive paperweight, to be sure. After experiencing failures with both units, I decided to purchase a more professional-grade dehumidifier. I selected the Frigidaire 50 Pint Capacity Dehumidifier (model number FFAD5033R1), which I also purchased through Amazon. Upon unpacking it, I was immediately struck by the difference in build quality vs. the Pro Breeze. The Frigidaire is a serious piece of equipment, and if it is possible for a guy to be excited about a dehumidifier, I can tell you that I was actually a little excited by this appliance. My initial positive impressions were validated when I plugged it in and started using it. It hummed to life, and within just a few hours, it had utterly removed the dampness and mildew scent from my storage room. Within less than 24 hours, it had already filled up its massive water repository (I purchased the 50-pint model), which I emptied into the flower bed and slid back into the unit so that it could continue. This is a serious piece of equipment, and although it is 3x the price of the Pro Breeze, it does a superior job at removing humidity and thus far appears to have no issues with mechanical reliability.Don't roll the dice by purchasing a Pro Breeze. Spend the extra money and get something that will do the job right and that will continue to deliver that performance to you over time.

Powerhorse of a unit
This bad boy can dehumidify a small storage unit (8×5×4) in less than an hour. It wont push the Rh% much lower than 53-52 on more humid days though. The manual switch also makes it perfect for climate controllers. I have the smaller unit hooked up as a backup when this guy turns off or struggles, but it works phenomenally on most days. Its also extremely quiet, which is a big plus for many of us.Dropped a star because the price point is pretty high and the reservoir fill switch is low quality, it broke down after about 4 months of running 24/7, before i built the climate controller. Im sure the unit wasn't designed to run day and night though so i cant entirely fault them for that.I should also mention what the data chart is showing. The controller is set to kick the dehumidifier on at 50%Rh and kick off and 45%. The downward slope on the sine waves are the time it takes to drop 5%Rh under those conditions. Its a pretty circumstantial point of reference but this is mainly to give you an idea.
