I bought this movement to replace a movement in a typical inexpensive clock, whose styling I happened to appreciate. I didn't want to lose that clock look...so why not replace the movement only, right?This is a typical inexpensive battery powered movement. So far, so good. The difficulty arises when trying to get specific dimensions for the triple shafts which drive the hour, minute, and second hand.While some vague numbers are supplied on this (and virtually every other) replacement movement Amazon page, the truth is that the numbers are just that, vague.As a machinist and tool guy with an over-equipped personal garage/machine shop/electronic bench/auto repair center, I am well equipped to deal with these vagarities...and it was a good thing, as I had to use a special tool to ream out my original clock's hour, minute and second hand to match the dimensions of this clock, even though the clock page appeared to have matching dimensions. They just weren't. Suppose I should expect that, but a little annoying for me.For other people, who don't happen to have a step micro-reamer for clock hands, it would be a deal breaker. Of course, if the mfg. SUPPLIED replacement clock hands including the second hand, this might not be an issue. In the case of this movement, what was supplied was wholely inadequate as a match for my schoolhouse clock. No knock against them for that, as they could not possibly anticipate every clock hand size. But they most certianly DO know the dimensions of their product's three driving shafts...and they should list them.For that inadequacy, I deduct one star. I deduct THREE stars from the "instruction quality" as they were non-existent. I deduct TWO stars from "easy to install" since I had to modify my parts to fit their movement, something a average buyer is not going to be able to do. Accuracy seems about as good as any battery powered movement...which is to say very reasonable over a 30 day period.If you don't mind fighting the battle of the shaft dimension, go for this one. If you need something that is accurate dimensionally, then be aware that the advertised shaft dimensions are rather approximate.

I order the replacement movements for two of my world clock center. Everything came as ordered. I made the mistake about the movement shaft size. The hole was to small. The face of the clock had the be drilled out. The face is made of a paper type material. So I could not use the movements. The clocks went to a clock repair shop. The return was very easy. It was my fault, ordering the wrong movement.

Not pulling any punches on this one. First of all the shipping was a joke. They tossed a fragile clock mechanism (cheap or not) directly into a paper bag and sent it out. It, of course arrived broken. This however wouldn’t have mattered, because the mechanism itself was one of the most inferior products ever made. Just buy a new clock, they’re already so cheaply made, it’s all just throw away garbage anyway. So sad :(

Item was perfect replacement for my wall clock. 4 months later, still keeping perfect time.

But that really isn't the people who made it or Amazon. I have never really fixed a Battery Operated clock before and I am not familiar with the way the mechanism fits into the clock and the sizes needed. I bought the wrong size battery mechanism and that's my fault. That said, the description on Amazon really doesn't give enough info like that for a novice like myself. Super fast delivery though.
