Good bang for the buck but treat gently!
I am from a family of bakers and cake decorators. While I love to bake, I am not much of a cake decorator- in the artsy sense. My background: I did an "apprenticeship" of sorts when I was first working next to family members decorating cakes in a retail setting. I learned technique, and I can put a cake together and make it look professional. But I am not passionate about it and I cannot create the artistic beauties that my relatives can. All I wanted was to get into the back of the bakery and start baking!20-ish years later, I have family members who LOVE to borrow cake decorating supplies from me. I have always kept a small assortment of tips, bags, and couplers in my kitchen for putting together cakes and cookies when I need to. Unfortunately, these borrowed items never seem to make it home. When I went in my drawer a couple weeks ago, there was nothing left. And with the holidays approaching and my own daughter who has apparently inherited the cake decorating gene (I guess it skips a generation?) I realized I was going to need to restock. Was I going to drop money on Wilton and Ateco tips? Nope. No way.So I decided on these. And they will do the job. ARE they name brand tips? No. But if you are just learning, have kids that want to play around with decorating, or have family that likes to borrow your supplies and they never make it back, these are good.A few things to keep in mind:You are going to want to store these in a solid container (tupperware type) to protect them from getting bent. They are made of thinner metal than your name brand tips and they will get bent and distorted if you just throw them in a drawer. So protect them a little and they will work just fine. I do have concerns about the fluted/shaped ends of the tips that lay down the actual design. Being thinner metal, they are prone to bending which will distort your pattern/design. But testing your tip before laying down a design on the finished product is something everyone should be doing anyways and it only takes a second to do.I wouldn't soak these in a sink, or run them through the dishwasher. Once again, it comes down to the metal they're made from. I think that these will rust/corrode from prolonged contact with water/harsh cleansers of the type used in dishwashers. Simple solution: when you're done with them, run a coffee cup full of very hot water, drop them in to dissolve/loosen most of your frosting, pour out the hot water, and refill with fresh water and a bit of dish soap and wash/rinse by hand. They include a brush for cleaning your tips, just use it. Rinse with hot water, and dry them immediately. This is how I cleaned mine and they look good yet. I didn't want to just air dry them and run the risk of them starting to rust, so I can't say whether they WILL rust if left to air dry or not.The assortment of tips is.... good. I don't know that the sheet illustrating their uses is that accurate though. Many of the tips are best used for creating flowers, leaves, figures (the creative possibilities are pretty broad- I've seen other people who LOVE decorating do wonders with oddball/basic tips) but the included sheet shows them being used for borders and string work which does not show their best use. I would suggest for anyone who wants to play, hitting YouTube or doing a little searching online. While these tips aren't numbered like Wilton or Ateco, you'll be able to see examples of how the different shapes can be used and get a lot of inspiration. Just remember, it's NOT the brand of the tips, or even their "Designated Use" that's important. It's HOW you use them and your creativity. Don't let anyone tell you you "can't" use a tip a certain way. Experiment. Figure out what works for you and PRACTICE. As long as the end product makes you happy and you've had fun, don't worry. You did it right. :)

Excellent Beginner Piping Set
I picked this set because I wanted to try to experiment with piping during quarantine. I expected to fight with the pastry bag like they do on TV, but when I received the kit, I found that the pieces fit together surprisingly intuitively. All I needed to do was glance at the product page before putting the tip together and I piped little florets like I was born for it. Cleaning was also easy--I hand washed the tips by running warm soapy water through them, and the brush provided takes care of any little bits of frosting that might get caught. Then I towel tried them and stuck them on a drying rack, and I haven't had issues with rusting. The bags are difficult to wash if you only have a sink because there's a lot of surface area to cover, but they're very easy to just stick in a dishwasher and they're good for the environment. As a bonus, they also include a little pamphlet that tells you which tip gives you which pattern of frosting, and the box everything comes in is compact and good for storage.I have no idea how they hold up to constant professional use, but if you're a beginner like me who just wants to tinker with some cupcakes and the odd cake or pate a choux, I think this kit is an excellent choice.

Not a professional grade set, but good.
This is not a professional cake decorating set, but it never claimed to be. The tips are a thinner metal than pro grade and there are no numbers on them to signify what tips are what. But, they are exactly as advertised and I had no problems with them. I'm not a fan of silicone bags, but it looks like that's what most people are using now. They do clean up easier than the fabric bags, but the plastic coupler slips right through the end if you put too much pressure on the bag. That is not the fault of the company. It is the fault of the handler (me) because I wasn't used to something with that much "give". This is a good set if you just want to decorate the occasional cake, cookie or whatever. If you are looking for a professional grade set, you should buy a professional grade set. For the money, this one is good.

OK for a one day kids project, beyond that, I wouldn't recommend this.
I bought two of these, to set up a decorating party for 2 kids. Each kit came with one tip that was bent out of shape. Unfortunately, in one of the boxes it was an open star tip, which is sad because that's an important one and that kid didn't get to use it for her cookies. One of the plastic boxes broke after I opened it and had to be thrown out. The tip selection is strange, but there are probably about 3 or 4 worthwhile tips (grass tip, 1m, open star (if it's not broken), closed star, plain tip). The couplers are fine, and there is a tip-cleaner brush. None of the tips were numbered. I would say if you plan to collect and re-use tips, don't buy this. If you just want a kind of cheap catch-all in a pinch for a one or two day thing, it's probably fine. I definitely wouldn't pay more than the 8 or 9 dollars I spent. If you're looking to start decorating and collecting tips, I would say stick with the well known brands. My ateco and wilton tips are well made, sturdy, one piece (not welded together), and numbered.Overall, due to the broken items, I was pretty disappointed.

Love the silicon bags.
I’ve never used silicone piping bags but thought I should give these a try.I am so happy I purchased these! The fact that it’s silicone makes it so easy to not rip when I’m piping.I was expecting the larger silicone bag to be not that large, but I was happily wrong. The big silicone bag is really big - meaning that quite a lot of frosting will be able to fit in the bags and you won’t have to keep filling it up with frosting. The giant couplers and tips were awesome.I can frost cupcakes in half the time I used to, which is useful to me because I can now finish my orders faster than before.Overall, if you’re looking for good quality silicone bags with a variety of tips, then this is the one for you.
