I love a good fantasy
This book takes you from one fantasy realm into the fantasy realm of nevermoor which is even more fantastical. I like the mixture of realism with fantasy. It has a good story line and plot. I love all the characters. I can picture how each one looks as I'm reading.

Magical perfection
Magical masterpiece.•Reading aloud to my kids is one of my favorite things that we do together as a family. Now I have a new favorite to add to that: listening to audiobooks in the car, and at dinner, and while the kids are cleaning their room! Nevermoor was our first family audiobook and I cannot rave about this book enough. From Jude to me, this book entertained every one of us. My kids actually asked if we could drive around the neighborhood so we could listen longer.•Jessica Townsend has created a magical world and exciting story that rivals Harry Potter (don’t tell bookstagram but I actually liked it MORE THAN HP) and we are hooked. Book one in this series is full of laugh out loud moments, found family, finding your place in the world, being courageous, doing the right thing, social justice, and exciting adventures. Everyone needs to read this book, but if you can listen to the audiobook, even better, this narrator was astounding.•What is your favorite magical world?•Clean rating: 🧼🧼🧼🧼 it’s middle grade. It’s clean.•

A fun, engaging read!
I don’t read a lot of middle grade novels and after enjoying a couple of them in the last couple of years, I decided that I wanted to get more into middle grade fantasy. I had been hearing a lot about Nevermoor and decided to give it a chance and I am so glad that I did.The Trials of Morrigan Crow is about this young girl named Morrigan Crow that has been cursed her entire life. She has been told that when bad things happen around her that it is her fault. She also has been told that on her eleventh birthday, which will be on Eventide, she will die. However, right before that can happen she gets rescued and whisked off to Nevermoor by this man named Jupiter North. Jupiter wants Morrigan to enter these trials so that she can join the Wundrous Society, which will give her the opportunity to stay in Nevermoor forever.I absolutely adored this book. I think the magic and whimsy is what drew me in and kept me entertained the entire time. I want to visit Nevermoor and stay there forever. It reminded me a bit of Wonderland in the sense that it was kind of kooky and odd in a good way. I really hope that we get to see more of it in the next book.I also loved the characters. Morrigan, especially, was a delight. She has this dry sense of humor that kept me chuckling as I was reading. She was also brave and I loved that she constantly questioned everything. With her being thrusted into this new world that she didn’t even know existed, it was really realistic to have her question Jupiter on what was happening. I was annoyed that Jupiter kept a lot of things from her at times, but by the end of the book I understood more on why he did it. The trials were also a lot of fun. I’m a sucker for some kind of competition and this satisfied that for me immensely.I recommend this book for kids and adults alike. I think that a lot of people will enjoy this and I definitely think it deserves the hype it has gotten. I can’t wait for the sequel to find out what is going to happen to my babies next. Also, the audiobook was incredible and I highly suggest checking it out if you’re into that medium.

A new Genrations Harry Potter!!!!!!!!!!! Minus Harry potter and JK Rowling
How can I say this without sounding overjoyed but this book is the next generations Harry Potter, minus the dead parents and minus Jk Rowling in how she is writing now. For fans of Harry Potter seeking a new world to dream in and for those who miss how JK Rowling use to write this new author Jessica Townsend and this book brings you into a brand new magical world filled with its own magical uniqueness that we seek as fans of this genre, Talking big cats, living hotels, Vampire dwarfs and magical societies fill with all kinds of folks, you get it all and main characters who are as lovable and as well as endearing. You will love Morrigan she is the most likable character I have ever seen, she is strong when she needs to be strong, is weak when she is weak but doesn't give up, she lived a life that many of us would feel sorry for her but she moves forward and doesn't let it get her down, mind you its not that easy, but we all have demons in our closets of our souls that we have to deal with. She is quick witted, childish and grown up at the same time, and so funny in many situations but than you also see the little girl side of her with all its vulnerabilities. You meet friends and friendenemies, and a lovable as well and aloof mentor, not a dumbledoore but maybe his cousin who is younger and funnier and a red headed ginger his words not mine lol. You will enjoy this first book of a hopefully epic series to come and enjoy the adventures and yes we got a villain and you will love it, please enjoy this book and be prepared to laugh and cry because the new adventure of MOG will begin!!!!!!!!!!!!

Great read!
The night was uncommon and crowded with possibility.”― Jessica Townsend, Nevermoor: The Trials of Morrigan CrowThis was such a fun and fast pace read! I was hooked from the beginning! In this debut novel we follow the very lonely Morrigan Crow. She is a cursed child who is counting down the days to her unavoidable death. That is until a red headed stranger comes along and gives her a different choice. It goes without saying that this is an offer she can’t refuse! But this new chance for a different life is not just going to be handed to her; she will need to prove herself and compete for a spot on the Wundrous Society in a magical place called Nevermoor. The magical elements in this book are so pleasantly unique and so refreshingly familiar at the same time. I definitely felt the different inspirations that came to this author and inspired the magic that was introduced in this world. The nostalgia that I got for Roald Dahl, Lewis Carroll, and other great authors is real! I was very happy and excited throughout the entire novel and am looking forward to getting into the next one!

Great YA Novel. Would recommend
While the world isn’t as developed as Harry Potter.. and the stakes not quite as high, it’s definitely in a similar vein, and I enjoyed it a lot. Would recommend.

Better than Harry Potter
This book is often compared to Harry Potter, but I and my kids found it better than Harry Potter. The plot is better, the mystery and the reveals are better, the characters are extraordinary and the book is just very well written. What's not to love about this book. The audiobook (Gemma Whelan as the reader is an absolute delight) plays during every road-trip we take and we've gifted a copy to every teenager in the family.

A wonderful magical tale in an awesome world
After Harry Potter, I have only encountered one other series with the „magic school“-trope that I actually really really liked (if you wonder, it’s the „Scholomance“ series by Naomi Novik). That is, until now. I immediately fell in love with ten year old Morrigan Crow, who is cursed and therefore not only shunned by people, because she is made responsible for all ill that befalls her surroundings, but she is also going to die on Eventide, the night of her eleventh birthday. My heart went immediately out to her, especially because she takes things in stride. Even when her awful family does its worst and she is deeply hurt, she seems a lot more grown up and in her right mind than everyone around her. Oh and she is just plain fun to listen to.Things get really interesting, when one Jupiter North saves her from death and takes her to the astonishing magical world of Nevermoor, where he is sponsoring Morrigan to take the trials for entry into the Wundrous Society. Aka magic wielders. And let me tell you, the magic system, the world and the various characters are marvelous. The book deals with the four trials Morrigan has to succeed in to not only get into the society, but also to be allowed to stay in Nevermoor. She obviously is the literal underdog, not being from Nevermoor and not knowing anything about it, which makes witnessing her experiences even more interesting.Jupiter owns the incredible Deucalion Hotel! It has a mind of its own, as all really magical buildings should, IMO, and a wonderful crew of guests and staff living and working there… I especially love the huge „Magnificat“ Fenestra, who is not only a giant, enormous cat, but also the hotel’s head of housekeeping.Yes, this book was pure joy to read and I will so read on!

Surpreendeu !
O livro é muito bom e faz lembrar um pouco de quando li Harry Potter pela magia e a naturalidade com que ela é tratada. Eu não dava nada para o livro e gostei muito dele e mal posso esperar para continuar lendo os outros.
