Ordered 5 pillows and kept this one.
I am a side sleeper, firm mattress, short stature, average weight. I bought 5 pillows to try for neck pain: Layla Kapok, Coop crescent, Eli and Elm Ergo side sleeper, Tempur-pedic Temper-Ergo, and Ecosa Cervical Neck Pillow. First, their is no "best" pillow, only the one that works best for you. So I just want to highlight difference. Price: all within about $20 of each other, so not a decider for me. The first 3 pillows above all feature shredded filling to allow you to adjust the amount of stuffing in the pillow, which I did for the Layla and Coop to find best fit. The first 3 pillow are all medium firm when full. The Tempur-pedic is really firm and the Ecosa is really squishy/soft, regardless of adjustment. Tempur-pedic was just to firm, but worse it feels small, and you just wish there was more room for your head. The Ecosa definitely cradles but it just feel too flat for side sleepers.Eli and Elm is latex fill, so it feels a bit rubbery. That is not bad, but just not what I am used to and it makes for a heavy pillow. Coop and Layla Kapok feel more pillow like, with Layla reminding me most of the down pillow I grew up using. Between the Coop and the Layla Kapok, I liked them both and had a tough time deciding. The crescent shape of the Coop and the gusseted side was innovative, but not sure it helped. In the end the Layla just felt more pillow like, came with the most stuffing (saving quite a bit to use down the road). Some reviewers have remarked that the kapok in the pillow means it needs frequent fluffing. Maybe, but then I came from the down world, so that's OK.

Perfect Pillow
I'm a pretty picky pillow person and have had the hardest time finding a good one for side sleeping. Those that are the right height are usually too hard to rest my head and the ones that are good for my head aren't sturdy enough for laying on my side.I got this one over a week ago and it has been fantastic. It has both memory foam confetti and this really soft batting that is just the right mix. But the best part is that you can remove some of the filling until it's the prefect balance for you! It even comes with a bag to store the extra filling until you might need it again. The opening in the pillow is also great. It's not so big that it's hard to control the filling as you're pulling it out and it has a little extendable fabric sleeve thing so filling doesn't get stuck in the zipper (which is a really quality zipper as well). It's kinda hard to explain, but is a great feature. The cover of the pillow is also so so soft. I was tempted to not even use a pillow case because it was so nice against my face.It took me about 3 nights of adjusting until I found just the right filling amount and I have LOVED it since. So don't give up too soon, just play with the amount until you find your ideal.

Satisfied Side Sleeper
I rarely ever write a review so for me to do this means a lot!!!Was starting to get lower back, shoulder (mainly on the side that I sleep on), and neck pain. Was thinking that it was due from the years of kickboxing, and sitting at a desk until I went for a massage and they worked the biggest knot out of my shoulder I felt instantly better. After that session a few nights later my shoulder and back started acting up again but this time I had noticed I was sleeping on that side again. I started doing research and noticed there are different pillows for the different positions of sleep. I did start stacking a travel pillow on top of my normal pillow (a memory foam cool temp pillow from Costco) and noticed that my mornings of aches and pains were less than what the were when I just had the one so I knew I needed a new pillow. I finally narrowed down to the Lala or the one that was about $60 more. I selected this one because I had the option to remove the filling if it's too high (5'1 petite frame) and I if I wasn't satisfied I could return it within the specified time frame. I didn't care if the cover was not removable because I would be using a pillow case on it anyways and I could handle spot cleaning and if need be I can carefully remove the filling and wash the whole thing. Also, the higher end I wasn't sure how it would feel actually laying on my back before I go to sleep just kind of skimming the last of emails, social media or whatever prior to calling it a night I wanted to have this option too.The moment I received it I was prepared to let it air out 24hrs because like others mentioned there was a chemical smell. The next evening I slapped a pillow case on it and was ready to test it out. It was a little high at first but this is what I wanted, I just needed to get used to the Layla vs. normal pillow shape memory foam pillow. First nights sleep was great! I woke up with absolutely no pain what so ever and I'm happy to say two weeks later this is still the same. Now my only somewhat "con" to this pillow, please remember I am coming from a memory foam pillow so I've been spoiled to this, but I do find I have to flip the pillow every night because the pieces of foam do shift towards the top of my head but that's to be expected since I read other experienced the same. This was the only reason I gave it 4 stars. This side sleeper loves this pillow and I'm keeping it!

"Overstuffed"???? By what measure???
"Overstuffed" my foot. I am profoundly disappointed with this pillow. I'd read that it was basically a perfect pillow, and for this price that's what I expected. But if Layla thinks they're sending out overstuffed pillows, they should check and see where the fill is going because it's not in the pillow. It looked too small when it arrived, but I hoped it was just compression from the packaging. I followed the instructions and massaged the fill and let it air out for most of the day, but it barely expanded at all. The first night it was so low it might as well have not been there. The second day I ran it through the dryer on no heat with some dryer balls and it puffed up a lot, but when I lay down it began deflating immediately and after just a few hours I couldn't sleep because it was flat again. I actually got up in the middle of the night and put my old pillow back; the relief was immediate. After two nights, my neck hurts on both sides, I'm exhausted from poor sleep, and I am angry and disappointed and feel lied to and jerked around. I absolutely do not recommend this pillow.
