South Africa, Namibia, Botswana Marco Polo Map (Marco Polo Maps)

I bought this in order to get a better visual idea of Namibia for a trip I have started to plan for 2022 in order to work out the best routes to keep driving to sensible levels to allow for actually seeing things.I've spent my entire life travelling for work and occasionally for holidays but as semi-retirement beckons I figured I'd like to see a little more at my own pace and somewhere more interesting than a beach. I have toured SA with friends on motorbikes offroad but I figured I'd do Namibia in a 4 x 4 for a bit more comfort this time. I also looked at tour companies offerings and frankly whilst very good, the same could be done by yourself on line with a huge saving.First off is a decent map though, because Africa and the countries within it are vast in comparison to the UK and it's essential to get an idea of how far and where, so you don't simply end up charging around the landscape not seeing anything because the planned stops are too far away from each other.And this is an excellent map for an overall picture of this part of Africa. It's not at UK OS Survey levels but good enough to plan the routes and to see where you can get so in a sensible time with the roads clearly marked.On top of that this map also has places of interest rated by star number to give you a heads up as to what you might want to try and include in your itinerary. It's very likely you will already have them in mind but it's nice to see them pre-marked on the map.There is also other written information that helps you as well.This map covers most of the sub-Saharan Africa a tourist might want to visit - basically, SA, Namibia and Botswana. I've worked in Congo - both of them, Angola, Nigeria and a few other countries and frankly, they are not the kinds of places you will tour unless properly tooled up with some no-neck friends...Overall, an essential help for visiting this part of Africa.
