No.50/4L Heavy Suffolk Latch - LONG Thumb Piece 108mm Black

I seem to go through garden gate latches a few times every year after they break when someone leaves the gate off the latch and the arm ends up getting bent or snapped when the wind blows it shut - I decided to try buying this one rather than the usual ones I buy from B&Q. It certainly looks and feels a lot sturdier and I had it fitted within 10-15 minutes (I've had plenty experience fitting these things lol). Time will tell but first impressions are that this one might actually last, fingers crossed.

Good strong latch. Bought to replace the cheap stuff from B&Q that went rusty with in two weeks and snapped. This however has been well welded and operates smoothly. My only criticism is how it's stored in the warehouse, prior to dispatch as mine had flakes of the powder coating missing and rusty underneath. I spray painted it with black paint and it looks like new, but would have expected it to arrive in a better state.Great latch though and really finishes off our gate nicely.

It does the job and is ok for the price.

Made a new gate, due to the design I needed a long thumb latch. This type of Suffolk Latch was not available locally but Amazon came to my rescue and it is of good quality and fits perfectly. Will last for many years to come. Arrived quite quickly and well packaged.

This is described as "Heavy" - this is simply rubbish.This is a fairly thin pressed steel affair and I would certainly not describe as "heavy". I went and bought another one after getting this disappointment, which is far more robust and galvanised to boot.Can not recommend this.

This is good quality and works well. The slider bit that the arm fits into was a bit bent so that bit doesn’t work. I was able to make one from BBC a piece of aluminium which does the trick.

Bought to replace some old and failing internal cottage door latches these are just the job! Sadly no fixings supplied which meant a lot of scrabbling around to find black dome headed screws! Not a real problem and they look fantastic on the doors! Great quality and should last as long as the originals!1
