Chimes OK, rest good for firewood at best.
First impressions review:First of all, I bought this on a lightning deal thing. £55 instead of $500+. So keepng that in mind, I am relatively happy, otherwise i would have sent the package back as way way overpriced.Let me put this buy into context. I provide music therapy sessions to care homes, nursing hoes and individuals with learning disabilities. I was looking for a load of cheap and cheerful instruments that will get knocked about and abused, so paramount was good build, not necessarily good instruments, but still something that makes a nice sound and will last more than a couple of sessions. I was mainly interested in the glockenspiels to add to my inventory. Wasn't expecting much from the rest. Now read on:As far as the description goes, it's more or less accurate, however, the photo implies there are 2 small, 2 large and 1 glockespiel with half notes. Not quite. There are 4 small and 1 with half notes. Therefore, the photo is misleading.Contents: Glockensiels - OK quality, will do for what I need them for. They sound good enough. Triangles - Well, can't really do wrong with some bent bits of metal really, so OK. Finger cymbals - OK Guiro - OK- same one as you can get anywhere. Works; not the best I've heard, but it'll do Shaky eggs - OK, nothing to get excited about Jingles - Not very loud. Will do at a pinch. Everything else - Forget it, just about good for firewood. Quality is shocking. specially on the tamburines. Agogo, block, claves ,maracas and clackers are basically useless, even for my needs. Cheap wood, I think maple. Probalby OK for 5 year olds, if they aren't too fussy. They hardly make a sound, specially the maracas, which are almost completely silent. The agogo sounds like a dead piece of wood, No life in it whatsoever, block not much better. As I said above, for £50 it's OK, mainly because of the chimes, otherwise not even that would be questionable. I have given it 3 stars because of the price, not because I think it is a good package.
