These do not last long
This is a really good monitor, if only it would last.. I’ve bought two, one lasted around 6 months and the other 12 months. At the time they cost £110 each. The problem too is there is no warning, the monitor just stops working one night which is a major problem when you really need to keep an eye on your child. The picture quality is really good which is why we bought another, however the battery isn’t great as you need to keep it plugged in which isn’t that much of an issue if they would just last more than a year.!! I’ve now resorted to buying another type which is a shame as I do like this monitor but it’s not cost effective and I can’t afford the monitor to just stop working without any warning.

Ok product, better out there. Mine broke after ~3 months!
I bought this monitor to watch baby from downstairs when my wife and I are watching TV in the evening. At first I thought the product was good; no set up needed, the parent unit and camera automatically connected. The picture quality was ok, not great, but enough to see what was going on.The parent unit is touch screen and can be used to move the camera in different directions by swiping a finger across the screen like a smart phone. The issue I had with it was that the left/right control of the camera was reversed, so when I swiped left on the screen, the camera would go right and vice-versa. This was quite annoying to be honest and I never got the hang of it.Then there is the connection/warm up routine when you first switch the camera on... the camera needs to move a full left-to-right and up/down rotation to find it's middle point, after which it announces, quite loudly, that it's "ready for connection". This probably takes close to 90 seconds. This was also rather annoying as my baby is a very light sleeper and would sometimes be awoken by the announcement. The blue light on the front of the camera is bright, but my baby was never bothered by it, nor did I deem it too bright like other reviewers have done. The camera was mounted on a flexible camera holder attached to a bedside table so there may have been enough distance between cam/baby for this not to be an issue.Eventually (~3 months) the camera wouldn't connect to the unit and I tried to reach out to the manufacturers directly as requested on a piece of card within the box. It took them around a week to answer, despite the card saying it would be within 12 hours, and the response was asking for information I had already provided in my original email. This was very disappointing so I returned via Amazon app instead and bought a different monitor. Much happier with the new one so, unfortunately, I would not recommend this one. Please see my other reviews if you would like to know which monitor I have since purchased.

The best one I've seen overall
We've had this for over 4 months now and feel we know it pretty well. I would give it 4/5 stars for the following reasonsPositives- camera can be battery operated (you just need a USB power pack with a micro-USB option - these are cheap)- works using either your home Wi-Fi or its own Ad-hoc wi-fi network which is great for trips away - range is decent in the latter case- the monitor (parent unit) has a very large display, which is a locked down Android tablet - battery life is around 2 hours on max brightness (again this unit can be plugged into a power pack or the wall if a socket is nearby)- the IOS and Android app both work well and allow more cameras it seems. You can also have multiple monitors viewing the camera at the same time- the apps also support viewing from anywhere in the world - in this case you do have to connect it to your home Wi-Fi (I'd advise using a password for this)Negatives:- The camera could come with a more useful pinch-clip - however it has a screw hole underneath it which allows it to be mounted on any standard tripod- The camera makes an annoying "Ready for Connection" message after 80 seconds after powering on. This can sometimes disturb a lightly sleeping baby- The blue LED light on the camera is quite bright (you can face it away though and just twist the camera from the monitor control- The speaker and lullaby features are quite pointless in our opinion - maybe they would work for some but if our baby cries i don't think soothing her via the built in speaker is going to send her back to sleep! All in all it was a good price and I would definitely recommend.

It's "OK" but that's about it. I'm returning it as it's not good enough.
After our motorola failing twice and being on the hunt for a decent baby monitor, I tried this one based on all the rave reviews and the 7" screen bonus.I'll try not to write a massive bore off debate about it so i'll list the bad points that made me send it back and choose another. ( I bought two monitors and tested back to back) I'll list the few good points too, not that it made me want to keep the product.Bad points:Temp in F. Cannot change. Pure irritationHandset is basically a really cheap tablet from the far east and takes ages to switch on and load.Picture quality of the camera is not good. HD mode never saves and you have to keep going in to menu to change. The few contrast/brightness settings are awkward and seem to work only when they want.Camera movement is slow and awkward to respond. The table stand for the handset is terrible, always knocking it over.Response time for sound from camera to handset is 1-2 seconds delayed.Remote view app for iphone is mediocre at best. Awkward to use.Its just a cheap tablet with baby monitor software loaded.Camera temperature is way way inaccurate.Good Points:7" touch screen (shame its so poor)Good coverage of the camera when you move it aroundThis is a completely honest review, parents of a 6 month old.
