Works like a charm
When I bought my first one, I was so surprised this worked with all my dogs. It looks like a toy, but it works. The minute I pushed that button, blessed silence. A few confused looks... a tentative attempt to restart, another blast (which didn't bother me since I couldn't hear it) and blessed silence again. I've had three of these the past few years, none of them have broken. Sadly, I've misplaced them. I'm on my fourth one and they are so worth it. I always want to keep one by the door since the cacophony is more than I can stand when someone comes to the door. I can't think or talk to someone until I grab this and point it at them. They're so used to it now, that all I have to do is point it at them and give them the evil eye and they back up and shut up. My teenage grandson said that he could hear it and I asked him if it bothered him... he said it wasn't pleasant. I will never be without one of these. I so like the impression I'm giving by pointing this thing...so much classier than when I was screaming "shut up" at the dogs and chasing them trying to get a hold of their collars. I have three dogs who aren't used to company... this saves a lot of aggravation and chaos. Recommend.

Worked for what I purchased it for
I purchased to curb hyper behavior while walking and in the vehicle. Our dog would concentrate on oncoming traffic and when it got to where it would pass in opposite lane she would lunge across the back seat and then into the rear of the SUV. Within 5 minutes she stopped. When she would begin to lunge I would press the button and tell her no. As soon as I had the lunge motion under control I then concentrated on her fixation when she would see the vehicles coming. When I would see her "fix" on the traffice I push the button and way "stop". Within 10 minutes no more bad behavior. And the rest of the 1 hour car ride you coulnd't even tell she was there. I have only used it for her pulling leash when walking for about 5 minutes. It is making a difference but will continue training with her. Even with just the car issues, I am very satisfied with my purchase! And she is a large Lab/Chesapeake mix at 80 pounds

Only lights up now.
Received it on May 1st, it worked great. Used it once or twice before dogs only needed to see it to stop barking.... Unfortunately in less than 30 days it no longer works, the light still works but nothing else. Hardly used at all, maybe 5 times total.... Not happy.

It works for my dogs!
My mother in law had one of these and I was blow away by how well it worked with her dogs. I searched Amazon and found this one. Despite the terrible reviews I decided to purchase. $8 was worth the chance. I'm glad I did. Just point, aim and press the button and the dogs stop their barking. It's magic. I've done some research, worried about harming their ears or otherwise. No definitive research to show one way or another. Just peoples opinions on the fact that we cannot hear the sound, makes it hard to know if we are harming them. Also the concern that they will grow used to the sound it emits. So far that's not the case and continues to work. I recommend it and would buy again.

this product arrived broken, i contacted the seller with no response. Not worth it. Its a piece of trash. i really needed one to as i walk a dog walk with strange aggressive dogs.

Not particularly effective
I have a Sheltie mix--who barks at leaves falling from trees. He's very protective while on walks and will bark aggressively at other dogs. This unit does not affect his barking at all. It does work if he is calm and I want his attention, and as a flashlight, it is nice to have on evening walks, so it's still useful, but not as a barking deterrent.

Falsely Advertised... This is NOT a Bark Stopper.
This product may or may not work for dog training, but a Bark-Stopper it is not! I purchased this based on this claim to quiet the 3 dogs where I was living. for all 3 dogs, when I used this product, the dogs would bark even more and wouldn't stop. Even in the instruction that come with this product do not even suggest that it might work to stop backing. I feel this Item needs to be removed for false advertising or at least not be allowed to claim it stops barking when the manufacturer makes no such claim.

Pretty much useless except for as a flashlight
Pretty much useless. We have dogs who bark at everything, and were trying to train them to bark less. This didn't really work. I mean, they heard it but they paid it no mind at all. We have like 9 little yappy dogs that live next door, and they bark CONSTANTLY. Was hoping it would work on them, but SURPRISE, nope. I guess you get what you pay for.
