This tape will accept magnets!
I have an older dishwasher, and the front metal panel will not accept magnets. Not knowing this, I bought 5 decorative covers. When they came in, they would not stick!! I did some research and found that I needed "receptive steel" tape. I purchased 3 rolls (2 would have been sufficient), and it was easy to install, and the covers stuck perfectly. Because the mats are heavy, I put 5 strips horizontally and strips around the edges. Also, shipping was super fast!

THIS IS NOT METAL TAPE!
I thought I bought STEEL tape. That being actual metal. What I got was poorly magnetized crappy rubber tape. I wasted $20 on this rubbish. The neodymian magnets I bought to stick on this stuff, stick much more strongly to metal. Garbage! Now I have to find actual metal tape for my project.

Great for home improvement
I used this and wrapped it around a vinyl flap to make a dog door. This piece was to hold it securely closed with the magnets built into the door. So it’s great! But the caveat to it bending around my flap is that it bends easily when I don’t want it to bend. But it’s still a great product.

Weaker than expected but still works
Wanted to use this to create a “frame” around a bathroom mirror that would hold refrigerator magnets (tourist souvenir type). The strip was easy to cut to size to and apply, but did not stick well to the wooden frame around the mirror. The glue backing was not strong enough to keep the strip affixed with the additional weight of the magnets. However, an application of SuperGlue between the strip and the wooden frame solved that problem. The magnetic surface itself is good, but not quite strong enough for heavier or bulky magnets; they tend to easily fall off if bumped slightly. Regular “flat” magnets stick very well.

Very lightweight holding power
Description did not say this would only hold something like a piece of paper. I returned this per instructions because it was useless to me but now being charged again because somebody lost the return shipment.

Will adhere to magnetic surfaces
I bought this tape to use as a backing to office nameplates that are affixed to the wall/cubicle with magnetic holders. This tape works perfect and will adhere to a magnetic surface. The tape itself is not magnetic.

Great for crafting!
Used these for a project where I needed something for magnets to stick to. Worked exactly as I'd hoped!

Utterly useless
Firstly, the ferrous content is so low that a normal fridge magnet will not hold a piece of paper on. I thought that's a bit disappointing, but I guess I can use high-power neodymium type magnets. The connection with these was still not strong, but they held on just enough. So next I peeled a section of tape only to find that the adhesive backing on the tape wouldn't stick to any surface I tried- metal, wood, or painted walls. It's a shame - a good idea, but useless in execution.

Pretty good
Double sided tape not as good as Scotch brand

not very strong to attach magnets to
I bought this to attach a window covering using a magnetic strip on the covering. Sadly the tape did not hold the magnetic strip attached to the covering

This is NOT steel in any way.
This is NOT steel tape with an adhesive backing. It is a black rubber-like substance similar to cheap fridge magnets. Even the packaging lists it as being steel, but it is definitely not. I bought 2 strips and a box of neodymium magnets for 3 projects: attaching a blackout curtain to a plastic window frame, displaying children's art projects, and being able to display birthday and Christmas cards along the front face of a fireplace mantle. The adhesive may possibly have been adequate, but I was able to remove it with very little difficulty. As far as magnetic strength, even using strong magnets, it was VERY low at best, and completely refused to hold in others. Trying the same magnets and items on a Samsung stainless steel fridge door held them all extremely well, (all had to be pulled as if taped with good masking tape and paper items would actually rip) so I can't fault the magnets or intended materials. So strike 1: false advertising.Strike 2: Falsely labeled.Strike 3: strong neodymium magnets barely hold when placed directly on it. Putting anything between the magnet and strip such as a birthday card, business card, 70D nylon cloth, t-shirt cotton etc. does not hold.Contacting Amazon to return the "steel" tape.

Very weak magnetic attraction, do not bother
I bought this hoping to use it on a shower stall door, along with a strip of magnetic tape for the door frame. The adhesive wasn’t an issue, but the tape was just far too weak for the magnet to do it’s job. Perhaps with a thicker steel tape, but this is too thin to bother with.

Stays on?
Tried to stick it to wood. It doesn’t hold on strongly. But it looks good!
