Their 100% Australian Tea Tree Oil is grown and harvested conventionally. Desert Essence growers are certified under the Code of Practice that sets guidelines for Tea Tree production and quality. This oil is steam distilled and no chemicals are used in the process. Sustainable practices are used, including use of solar energy, state of the art irrigation, and minimal pesticides. Desert Essence Eco-Harvest Tea Tree Oil is grown on an environmentally sustainable, ecologically responsible plantation that is aligned with a USDA Organic operation, but is not USDA certified.
