UPDATE 12/21/17:After my first review the company contacted me immediately to offer free replacements. We've had them for a couple weeks now and used them almost daily with no issues. The batteries are lasting and not having any issues with them being "stuck" on like the last couple we had. My boys and I are quite pleased that I can now let them walk to school and report in by walkie talkies. I am impressed with the promptness and courteous reply by the company that reached out to me after reading my review. It's much appreciated. I updated my 1 star to 4 stars. If I didn't have to deal with replacements I would make this a 5 star review. However I kept one star off for the inconvenience. I recommend the product for the price and know that the company is committed to outstanding customer service should any issues arise with your purchase. Seems we just had a bad set to start with and the new set seems to be holding us as other reviews have described as well.ORIGINAL REVIEW: My boys were so excited to get these for their birthday. I purchased based on the great reviews. I missed the return window as I purchased a week before their birthday. They have used them just under 3 weeks and no more than a handful of times. I wanted them for days they walk home on their own from school. Used twice for that but then could not communicate with them as one constantly gets stuck "on" so I can't transmit to them but they can click and talk to me despite the fact it's already transmitting. The other unit goes dead after about 40 min of use time even with new batteries. So, I'm stuck with one that constantly clicks on and off beeping and transmitting while the other one continuously goes dead and wastes a lot of batteries. I'm not sure who's more disappointed, my boys or me. They were perfect the first couple times we tried them. Too bad it was so short lived.

This is a nice and cute set of walkie talkies. It is well-made and the finishing on the plastic is smooth. For once, there is a color that my little girl will love - pink! I like how the set is small and fits nicely in little hands, but then it is also ergonomically comfortable to hold for adults. The little flashlight on the top of the walkie talkie is a neat and fun addition for the kids. The walkie talkies come over clear with no static noises when transmitting, and works through the walls in the house. The kids are having fun using it in the neighborhood with their friends and the lanyard (where you can clip/unclip the walkie talkies from) is great as it keeps it on them. The walkie talkie uses three AAA batteries, and I like that there is an option to use rechargeable batteries too.

For the price, it serves the purposes, simple communication in a household. The sound is clear, loud. Kids love them, and it immediately became their favorite toys! Some times, we put them in different cars, and keep communicate on the go. So convenient! Thank you!

Work much better than expected. Range is very good. Audio tone/clarity for something at this price is amazing. Highly recommend. Was a gift for our 4 y/o grandson - size is perfect for a child hands.

Best toy for kids, would work great for any purpose! Excellent product, great price, very clear, good range. My son uses these to play with us in the house or we have him carry one outside so we can always communicate with him or find him if he wanders out of site. We live in the country and he may go around the side of the house and I panic. These are great peace of mind and easy for him to use.

Bought theses for my 7 yr old grandson and he loves them. he has a hard time keeping them away from his 2 brothers (10 & 16). looks like I will buying more of these in the future. They are very clear, no distortion. I can not verify the distance but they do work around the neighborhood. While they are small they actually are a perfect size for all to use.

Fun product and easy for the kids to use

So far, I'm getting good reports back from the grandkids about the distance they can hear each other from. I have two grandsons that have different parents and live in the same subdivision. I'm told that they can talk to each other from their respective homes. Cool!
