Great! Joker Ember
I got the Joker Ember with the curly Burch handle. I wanted the Lars Fält knife that looks similar to this, but the Joker was a better price. I read a review that wasn’t very good for this Joker and I saw pictures of some manufacturing issues but thought if it’s bad I’ll just return it. But I am impressed! The handle quality is beautifully sanded and form fitted to the full tang metal. The brass rivets are sanded perfectly flush to the handle wood. The curly birch handle has a nice texture and a good hand feel. The knife has a good overall weight to it. Solid construction. The blade steel has a good sharp edge to it and the holster is great quality. (The Joker logo and the name Joker are heat stamped into the leather, I don’t like that but oh well, it’s not really about the sheath). I immediately unboxed it cut some wood and struck away at my giant Ferro rod to start a fire. Greg Ovens would be proud.

The Ember
It was somewhere around the 4th featherstick that the euphoric effects took hold. I caught myself mesmerized as I watched the scandi grind peel away yellow pine, layer after layer with unbridled ease. After a quick sanitation of the blade, I turned to food preparation and made short work of a potato, then diced some onion before cubing a sirloin round. The blade completed each task effortlessly.I then turned my attention to the 90' spine with a momentary bit of hesitation. Most knives in my collection fall short of throwing a decent spread from a ferro rod. I gathered my feathersticks, placed them around my tender. The rod grated against the spine in a singular pull and a firework like display showered the cattail instantly taking root. Moments later I was rewarded with the resinous smell of campfire smoke and flame. It's usually at this point in my excursions where I sit back and relax, listening to the sizzle and pop from the cast iron while gazing into the flames. This time though, I found myself wondering exactly what all this beautiful piece of sandvik was capable of.Off to my side lay a decent sized piece of unseasoned dogwood, somewhere around 3 fingers in girth. A decent test I surmised. The spine preformed true to expectation laying the bark bare. Push cuts, beaver chews and notches of all sorts and variations followed. The handle lay comfortably in my hand throughout as the dogwood, known for its density gave way to the blades undaunted will.Impressed to say the least, I decided that day to make the Ember a permanent part of my outdooring kit. Since that day it has processed countless game and fish. It has withstood the occasional batoning, lighted an unfathomable amount of fires and participated as a pivotal part in the construction of numerous bushcraft projects. It has always answered the call and performed beyond expectations while keeping it's edge regardless of task.Considering the price I paid to aquire this gem, I almost feel as if I had swindled it's producer. For I feel that a knife of this quality and aesthetics should be of higher value. With that being said, thank you Joker Knives. Know that I would not hesitate to recommend this blade or brand to anyone enquiring.

Great Knife
I bought this back in June so I've had a few months of use to make a review besides just looking at the knife.I have and use a lot of knives, and I wanted another knife that could handle light to medium bushcraft duties, so I gave this a try due to the profile being close to the Condor Bushlore. with the same grind. The Joker Ember makes quick work of shavings and feather sticks thanks to the scandi grind. It batoned some fairly hard woods down into kindling. Carved some nice notches and even cuts my steak nicely while in camp. It maintains an edge very well and is easy to touch up if you need to with just a few swipes on a fine side of a diamond stone or even just a dry strop. I like the sheath that comes with this knife, one could easily drop this amount on a leather sheath of this quality alone. This thing also comes with a sharp spine to use with a ferro rod or to make scrapings. Over all this is a solid knife and works as well ( if not better ) as some knives at twice the cost.

Updated review.
Update:I wonder if I recieved a return from Amazon or it was possibly a fluke. I ordered a new knife and this knife was sealed in the box unlike the last. I opened the box and I was pleasantly surprised. Everything was like it should have been the first time. Super sharp and the grind was even. No damage to the blade or anything else. The handle was finished correctly and very comfortable. I'm excited to try this knife out when it warms up. I'm glad I gave them a second chance so far.I really wanted to like this knife but quality control issues are too bad to ignore. The grind is uneven. Possibly causing the blade issue that is shown. There is a small section on the blade that is damaged. It looks like it had a chip and they decided to resharpen the blade but did not complete the repair. Also there is a spot on the handle that was partially ground leaving a high spot in scale. The sheath had a small nick in the leather. Finish those repairs and it appears you could have a great knife. There is something small on the blade that I could not remove however I could not get my camera to focus on it. It was bought to be a user so that was not an issue compared to the blade and handle problems. I have heard claims of this knife being better than an esee or mora galberg. So far this has not been the case in my experience. There is not a place on Amazon to contact the company. I would love to exchange this knife for one that did not have these issues for an updated review but sadly that is not an option.
