Raspberry Pi 400 (unit only, UK layout)

Probably it's most attractive feature and one I love the most. Through an accident I had where I knocked over a glass of water that made its way into the keyboard. Suddenly all I could get out of it was gibberish. I decided that the best way out of my dilemma was to purchase a new unit.24 hours later I had a new rpi 400 sitting on my desk. This is where it gets ineresting. I removed the connections from the rear of the old one and pluged them straight into the new one. The micro sd card was moved across. I switched the power on and it started up and presented me with the familiar screen saver. It even asked me if I wanted to continue from where I had left off. The procedure took just over 60 seconds. This feature alone makes it a five star item.

It's a Raspberry Pi and the most adaptable , out of the box, computer available. A little bit of work and it's a desk top, media centre, development machine, it is what you make of it.

I bought this with the intention of using it as a Monero node or something involving the Ubuntu operating system. It ended up having Pimiga2 installed on it instead and caused me to send back my Amiga mini on release day.As a classic computer emulation system, an emergency computer or as some kind of server, this Raspberry Pi really performs. The integrated keyboard was such a great idea. You'll find excellent compatibility and the usual Raspberry Pi ecosystem to greet you.If I had to list a downside, it is that some software just hasn't been updated to work with this model Raspberry Pi. You should expect to find alternatives or switch to a Raspberry Pi 4 where appropriate.

This is a lovely thing to learn python programming, browsing, watching 4K movies (needs bluetooth audio device or amplified wired device), can manage 2 monitors, good for office things as well. If you looking for a pc for gaming this is not designed for you. I like the GPIO port this is a unique! If you buy this version buy a USB-C what is non E-marked (E-marked cables feedbacks to charger you use a wireless audio device and will switch off power in seconds) or the best if you buy genuine raspberry power supply.

Dead on arrival unfortunately. Power light comes on but nothing else happens. No diagnostic screen, no fan noise and no os booting.Shame as the unit itself is quite nice looking and the keyboard seems sturdy. Not keen on the mini hdmi and lack of power switch though.This is a bare bones unit so you need to get a psu and sd card to install an os on before you can use it and there is no documentation in the box, which is why it's cheaper than other sellers.Amazon refunded without issue so I guess I just got unlucky and got sent a dud one.

I got this to use as a retro games machine using Batocera and as an Amiga using PiMiga.

First pi-400 computer that is genuinely a capable home pc for everyone. The pi-4b is good enough but coming as a bare board it needs to be built into a case first.Get the proper pi power supply. If you're not sure about operating systems get the Noobs pre formatted Micro SD card. If you want the best deal it's cheaper at the pi shop.Also anyone wanting to experiment with something that isn't Google, Microsoft or Apple but not sure where to start can try this at little financial risk. A Pi runs on Linux and while this is not as mature as any of those alternatives it is very close.

The pi 400 did not work!I sent it back and they deny its been recievedTrying to talk to Amazon but their bots are geared to avoiding real contact.Kind RegardsHoward Kirkman
