Q: Will this work on a comcast house? moca adapters do not work on directv homes, does this apply with this adapter but vice versa?

No, they won't work. These adaptors still use the MoCA protocol, but at a lower frequency so that they can coexist with satellite on the same wire. That lower frequency makes them incompatible with cable TV on the same wire, and they won't communicate with other MoCA adaptors designed for higher frequencies.

Q: Is the power supply needed on both ends of the connection or just on the router/gateway end?

With HR24/H25 simply connect the LAN to the DECA, and the coax to the swm splitter.. The network will be routed through the coax to all IRDs on the swim splitter. You will need power to the DECA.

Q: can I use this to run from my cable to my apple tv box ?

Yes to provide internet connection to your apple tv and router or switch... but if you use antenna or cable tv service then make sure the coax between these 2 devices is separate and does not connect to any tv or cable switches. If you use satellite tv then no problem mixi g it with the satellite coax.
