i didnt see any review on amazon before i bought it. i like the white tin box design and wooden color pencil style very much. i also watched a video about this product on YouTube from derwent. it is nice and i see the result of these lovely watercolor pencils. i really very happy to get it. good price compare to another brand. of course good quality in academy level.

These work best with water
They are not soft at all…very hard but over wet they act more watercolor like. The inktense are softer & more creamy. I love Derwent but these are too hard for my style.

Really nice quality for the pencils and the case the case is a nice sturdy metal and closes nice and tight and the pencils draw really smooth the colour goes on the paper really smooth and shows up well like they're really pigmented i think is how you would say it and they blend well. A great buy for the price I'd say

it does not meet standards to be called Derwent
For the price range it has a questionable quality, I know it is the academic range, but it does not meet standards to be called Derwent, for the price I recommend going for the Lyra, or invest a little more and go for Fabercastell Goldfaber Aqua
