TC HeliconDUPLICATOR Ultra-Simple Vocal Effects Stompbox with Doubling, Reverb and Pitch Correction

I wanted to try one of these but with it being so new and almost no reviews, I took a leap of faith based on the performance of my Mic Mechanic 1. (A truly great piece gear thats worth far more than the asking price)Me? Been playing a long time but I'm not a pro. Let's say "experienced amature​" lol.The main difference between this and the Mic Mechanic is that you have doubling instead of delay. Both have the pitch correction, tone enhancement and reverb so check out the info and reviews on the MM for more depth on those features.The foot switch on this unit turns the doubling on and off so you can toggle that feature without losing the tone, reverb or pitch correction. Pretty cool. It does a tight, loose, and octave for the second voice. They can obviously sound artificial if overused, but set low you can sound well produced. Much like a recording of yourself which may take a bit of getting used to at first. I like "loose" setting​ on the lower end of it's scale. However, I don't use the feature as much as I thought I would.I play in an acoustic duet and with a band as well. The Mic Mechanic version 1 stays with my pedal board I use in the band setting. The duplicator is being used in the acoustic duet setting where delay could be a bit more out of place.That being said, if you had to get one unit and can't decide, it's down to doubling vs. delay. Both my units sound great and definitely add a more polished, professional sound.Also worth noting: This unit as well as the new mic mechanic 2 do not come with power supplies like mic mechanic 1. Also, they can take AA batteries and run on a 9 volt power supply so you can use whatever you use now for your other guitar oriented effects. (One spot, boss etc.) MM 1 came with a 12 volt power supply and had no provision for batteries. The new units also set the Mic gain automatically so there is no adjustment on the side of the unit like the older MM 1.

This is a great pedal for enhancing vocals!

Look around for prices. The doubler is good but this thing eats up 4 double "a" battery in just a few hours.Do not turn Pitch correct past 40%. I will pull your voice to the wrong pitch. It does not use the guitar for pitch or there is no way to select the Key of the song.

This item is very noisey. I also tried two separate mic mechanics and they were not usable. Both where noisey. . I am using Shure dynamic headset as I play piano, guitar, ukulele live. This duplicator unit was not usable. I then purchased the voicetone mic pedals which are phenomenal but the phantom power in these pedals cuts out my small Roland stereo accoustic amp. The cut out is an electric cutoff built into the amp.. So playing live in the street with a small amp makes neither this duplicator pedal nor the mic mechanics possible due to noise. I tried tc helicone voicetone pedals which need 12 volt and my small battery amps like Roland accoustic cuts them off due to phantom power (with zero gain added).Emails to tc helicon are not answered.. So tc helicone support gets a zero score for customer support.I bought this duplicator for live street playing but it is to noisey to use. Without this pedal plugged into my amp I have zero noise.Incredible bad design not to be able to use it. And the duplicator gets very high ratings...not sure how

Needed to take control of my vocal effects for an acoustic act. Only really wanted the doubling effect, which is exactly what I hoped it would be, and the reverb. The pitch correction is a nice bonus. I use it at about 50% and it's not obvious but it does make a difference.The first unit I received seemed intermittent. It would stop sending signal after some time in use. Returned it to Amazon and took my chance on a second. The ONLY time I have had the same problem was when I was relying on batteries and not the power adapter.Should be noted: that someone else's review commented that there is no way to switch off the reverb but in actuality you can:One thing the manual doesn't mention is if a phantom power supply can be used to allow a condenser mic to be used with the Duplicator. I don't want to damage the Duplicator.1 click will engage / disengage the doubling effect.Long hold will engage / disengage reverb effect.

This pedal is well-built; you can step hard on it. You can use batteries or use a power cable. I recommend using the power cable because it uses many batteries and consumes much energy so you can run out of power in the middle of your performance. If you want to duplicate your voice and use the reverb, that sounds great. The auto tuner cuts your voice horribly if you sing a note out of tune. It's better if you save a little more and buy the VoiceLive Play, which has a lot more effects, or plug your computer and use the built-in Logic Pro effects.Pros:Great reverbGreat duplicatorWell-builtCons:It has a terrible auto tuner even if you sing close to the noteYou must buy a power cordToo expensive for only 2 effects
