Light by name, light by nature. And cheap too!
Billed as the "Hero Extra Light Fountain Pen" this is exactly what it is. Delivered in a basic presentation box, this extremely lightweight, almost featherweight, fountain pen is great value at just under £3. Despite its low price point, it writes like a dream, with a slight element of scratchiness that helps you to know you are in contact with your paper. Filling is by a press bar that is revealed once you unscrew the nib assembly.Years ago I used to have the original of this pen. This modern replacement is only a fraction of what I would have paid for the original, yet is a most satisfactory writing tool. Very happy with it. Don't forget to buy a bottle of ink too!

Cheap and cheerful
Works on suction for refilling from ink bottle. Nice to write with but not the classiest pen in the pencil case.

Cheap and awkward
You get what you pay for. The pen is a very cheap construction, I like the fine nib but the squeeze-fill reservoir is extremely tedious and temperamental to operate and it is almost impossible to see how much ink you have actually managed to coax in to the pen. A shame as it is actually not too bad to write with.

Cheap an cheerful
My grandma gave me one that she had used for over 10yrs and I brought another one as spare. I have to say that the quality had gone down compare to the ones made 10yrs ago (so i gave four stars instead of five). But the pen is still cheap, light and it works well. I have very small handwriting so most european fountain pens sold at the lower end are too broad for me, this pen is fine enough and it looks vintage. It is true that this one is no where near the original parker, but for intensive essay writing, cheap and durable is just right.

Excellent fountain pen
I love this pen, it has a beautiful smooth nib and is an exact replica of a Parker 51. Unfortunately I lost it but at this price I am ordering a replacement. Ignore the review that says it is difficult to refill. It is easy. Just keep squeezing until there are no more bubbles.

Urrgghh
I bought this shoddy little pen knowing that it was Chinese rip-off of a Parker 51 as I wanted it for the 'Black Museum' section of my fountain pen collection. If you really want a superb fountain pen, go for a genuine vintage '51'.

Good stuff
I've owned a couple of these ~20 years ago in school and I still remember the great writing quality. Whilst these might seem a bit flimsy when you hold them in your hand, you will forget about that when you'll start writing. They glide seamlessly after a while, remember that the tip needs a bit of getting used to your own style of writing, until then they might seem to scratch the paper a bit. Don't push down, just go with the flow.
