Well designed
After researching counter top ice makers for months, I settled on this model. It’s been in operation for about 5 days and I am impressed with the quality of this product, thus far, and the functionality. It fits perfectly on the counter and looks elegant. The ice size is perfect and it makes more ice than we use so we bag some and freeze it. The fact that it recycles the melted ice water is brilliant, the system will stop once the tray is full, as the first layer of ice slowly melts if not being used, the water is used to make more ice, the system kicks back on and keeps fresh ice in the basket. The self cleaning mode is convenient and works as advertised. The noise level is as expected for a device that has refrigerating components. I found on the second day there was a bit more vibration noise and that is due to the side panels reverberating from the units natural frequencies so I stuck a magnetic light I had hanging around to the side and that quieted down the side completely. So far, we are excited and very satisfied with this purchase.

Seriously Misrepresented
Amazon was 100% correct in their suspicion of reviews for this item. When I first tried to review it, there was a glitch in the delivery notifications. . . still is for that matter. Amazon posted a red warning that it was only allowing verified purchases to review this because of suspicious activity. I applaud them for being on their game.OMG. If I could give it less than one star, I would. It is literally the loudest appliance in the house. I have an open kitchen/living room floor plan and I've never had to turn up the TV because of the fridge or even the dishwasher until now. With this ice maker, you definitely do. I kid you not when I tell you it scared the dog. The reviewers who said this thing was quiet, got it as part of a free promotion. It's not difficult to connect the dots from there. The only place I would run this is in the garage with the door to the house closed. In addition, it puts out A LOT of heat on both sides of the unit. It wasn't as hot as my toaster oven, but it wasn't far from it. I guess you could use it as a space heater in the winter in a pinch. For the amount of ice it it makes and how long it takes, I wouldn't keep it if you gave it to me for free. You're not going to be filling up a hydroflask 32oz or 40oz without freezing bags of ice you can dip into. Forgot about the 64oz bottles. It's a very heavy machine with a large footprint on the counter I had hoped it might give the the big boy brands a run for their money. It's pretty. Looks like it could but the only thing going for it is the pretty blue light. A very hard pass on this. I have portable $60 ice maker still running that makes 3 times the ice in the same amount of time. I bought it because of the "nugget" feature. I guess we're going back to the cubes. Wow. . . just don't know what else to say. Good call Amazon.

Noisy, but great ice cubes
We've had this for 2.5 months. It's a mixed bag.If you're standing next to this when it's running, it's difficult to hear someone in the next room. The "quiet" part of the cycle is 60 decibels (measured at 3 feet/1 meter). That's like having a normal conversation happening right next to you. The "noisy" part of the cycle is 65 db. That's like being seated next to a noisy group in a restaurant. We frequently turn it off when we're in the kitchen, but this is mostly manageable.Unfortunately, in the last couple of weeks, the belts have started slipping, and it squeaks from 70 to 80 decibels. This is not a small increase: 80 db is twice as loud as 70 db. This is in the "vacuum cleaner" and "kitchen blender" range of noise. It is very disruptive. Additionally, this started after two months of daily, ordinary (small) household use. Either we were unlucky and got a "lemon", or these units are not very durable. This is our second countertop ice maker. Compared to our previous one, it makes very nice, small ice cubes. The ice cubes are smaller than our first one, which means they're even better for chewing, with less risk of a cracked tooth. The ice bucket is smaller than our previous one. This one is prettier and takes up a little less space on the countertop. As is typical, this is an ice "maker", not a freezer. None of them chill the ice after it's made, and this one has basically no insulation. This means that most of the time, a full bucket of ice melts 6–10 hours. On the downside, that means that if you have a full bucket of ice and turn the machine off, then it will all be melted later. On the upside, that means that it's not running up your electric bill round the clock. (You can leave it turned on overnight or while you're at work, in which case it will noticed the empty bucket and make more ice.)Cleaning was easy, but the plug is on the bottom, so you have to be able to move the whole unit over the sink, but after that it was easier than our old one.

Just got it!!
I just got this machine a couple days ago. But here is what I think, its small an fits nice on the counter. It makes alot ice an doesn’t take to long.Cons: you cant store ice in it. It will melt fast an the machine doesn’t recycle the water so it will sit in the machine till you manually drain it from the bottom. Also when you put the ice in the freezer it will all stick together, an its hard to break apart. My cousin recommended putting it in a ziplock so you can smash the ice apart. This worked for me. Its alittle loud if your in the same space or close to the room. Its cute an small an does the job so i will keep it.Update a year later: I was wrong you can store the ice in, just have make sure the water isnt low.The water does sit in the machine from i e melting so I clean it frequently an drain the water. It is alittle loud an can get annoying as it will come on multiple times during the day to replenish the ice.Overall a year later an i still love it!!!
