Yes, it's big, but it's accurate.
Excellent helmet for the money. People complain that the helmet is huge,-and it is-but so was the original. It is well-detailed, the paint job is done well and accurate. This is the best helmet I've seen for this money range-far more accurate than the Black Series. I do wish they wouldn't have double layered the mouth/chin vents, but otherwise if you have the size to pull off vader, this is a great option. In the pics, I have it compared with the $300+ EFX, and the Black Series.

Great Vader helmet for the money
I just picked this up for $79.00, and I couldn't be happier for the money. The helmet is very nice. It's already painted in a two-tone paint scheme (as it was in the original trilogy) and the dome attachment mechanism is very secure (kinda of a twist-lock), much more solid than Velcro. The previous option for a full-size Vader helmet in this price range was the Rubies supreme helmet, and this helmet is FAR better for the money. It displays very well the out of the box, and doesn't suffer from some bad mis-shaping like the Rubies does.Having said that, there are a few nit-picky things I'd like to point out. First, another review said this was made from the Empire Strikes Back molds, and I'm pretty sure that's not the case. The Original Trilogy Vader helmets are asymmetrical. This is especially noticeable in the triangle of the mouth area where one side of the triangle is longer than the other, giving it a slight "droop" appearance. This helmet is symmetrical. Perhaps they started with a scan of an ESB helmet and then cleaned it up, but it is not a 1:1 match of a screen-used OT helmet.Second, the tusks are not metal, nor is the mesh in the mouth and chin vents. A set of fan-made aluminum tusks and some metal mesh will take this helmet up a notch.Third, the lenses are surface-mounted from the outside, and appear to be vacformed plastic lenses. Again, a fan-made set of acrylic lenses would really improve the overall appearance of the helmet. Finally, the paint job is fine. Not great, but good enough for display. A nice, deep clear coat would greatly improve it. The dome doesn't appear to be painted, just molded in color. In the lighting in my collection room, it seems to have a bit of a gun metal hue to it.Overall, it's a nice piece even with those tiny issues. I'm very happy with it and it has immediately replaced the Rubies Supreme (that I did a LOT of work on to improve) on display in my collection room. There are more accurate Vader helmets available, but at 3 times (or more) the cost of this one. It will make a great base to start with to add those few improvements I've mentioned. One additional thing to note: if you're considering this helmet for a 501st Legion costume, it's not currently acceptable for membership due to some inaccuracies like those I've mentioned above, so do your homework on that before buying it.

Good cosplay helmet Why the double vents blocking air?
Great display piece and as a cosplay add on. Just got two gripes:1- the top piece is not easy to install and take off especially when wearing it. You have to pre install it then put the helmet on but the head adjustment strap is blocked by it. I had to tighten it just enough to able to have the least bobble head effect as possible. Plus the nose foam provided wasn’t comfortable so I changed it myself.2- the next gripe is the plastic vents are double layered for some reason but also both layered on top of each other which blocks 90% of the vents. So the back of the head is well vented but the front vents need a better assembly.Other than that I’m happy with this purchase. Just which they fix these two things and this will be the best cosplay helmet for the VADER who breaths better during conventions lol

Not perfect, but perfectly priced.
I chose this to go with my ESB Vader cosplay kit I'd built and used this past Halloween. I'd been using the Black Series helmet until now, but that version left no room for cooling fans and was remarkably heavy on your head. The Jazzwares, since it doesn't have all the internal doodads the Black Series boasts, is much lighter and roomier. And at $79 dollars (get it on sale, don't spend full price!) it was much less painful to cut into in order to install said fans!Pros - lighter and easier to wear overall. Easy to get in and out of with minimal fuss. Eye lenses, being grey, are easier to see thru versus the ANH red-tinted ones.Cons - the inner head strap is flimsy, especially the one going over the top of your head. It unsnaps EASILY. My advice is to find your happy place where it fits, and then wrap and glue that upper strap permanently. As others have said, it's closest to the ESB helmet than any others, but it's not spot on perfect to any particular movie. If you're a stickler for detail, you'll need to mod it a little. At minimum, it needs a paint job, new metal tusks, and new mesh in the grille area. The neck is a bit wide at the back, but I suspect they did that deliberately to make it easy to get on and off. If it bothers you, you'll want to reshape that and close it up a little bit behind your neck.Bottom line: It's worth the price, especially on sale, if you want a decent looking helmet for display or for a costume. It wouldn't pass 501st muster without at least a few mods, but that's a whole different ball of wax anyway.

Rad helmet—-as a DISPLAY!
Rad helmet but definitely for display use only…unless you’re 6’4”! I put it in and I totally looked like “Dark Helmet” from Spaceballs the Movie…it was hilarious! Unfortunately not quite the response I wanted…rad craftsmanship and all- just too darn big!

Buyer beware
I’m torn, this helmet is amazing and looks even better in person, but the box… THE BOX!!!! arrived in the worst shape I’ve ever seen, especially for something supposed to be brand new. I did want to keep the helmet in the box for display just to show how massive this is. Contacted Jazwares and Amazon, both keep leading me to each other, with no resolve. I don’t want to replace it in fear I get something worse, and I don’t want to return it because the helmet is gorgeous. Portion refund maybe for my troubles and having to throw away a box of a collectors item. Mainly just quality control so this doesn’t happen to anyone else. 😫 Buyer beware.
